Sometimes you find a new hero to unlock and decide to release one of your team members. If you don't unequip the equipment though, they vanish for good. Dismissing the hero with equipped items destroys the items.



I learned it the right way, I thought that the items would go right back to my inventory, which seems to be the more correct behavior.



Also, I was intending to purchase a new item for one hero 'utility' slot. He already had one item there. I clicked in the merchant's item, and then clicked in the utility slot, and the item was purchased. The original item, which was equipped before the purchase, vanished.

Maybe you sold it?

They fixed this in the 0.8.7 update

No they didn't.



At least on infirmary mode, I dismissed a hero to test, and it vanished along with the items.



Still happens on 0.8.7
