Just bought the game off of Steam.

I launch it, and cannot make it past the loading screen before it crashes to desktop.

Tried:

  • Running as Admin
  • Changing username - mine didn't have any special characters anyway
  • Reinstalling the Game
  • Verifying Cache
  • Reinstalling graphic drivers

All without any luck.

Attaching the contents of my crash folder.

Hello tocath and welcome on the forum!

It seems that someone found a workaround here.

Try adding "-force-d3d11" to the launch options in the game properties.

Could you please tell us if it works?

Thank you.

Saylawl, that gets me past the beginning screen and I can start a game.

BUT everything is dark!

I Can't see the characters, only the UI elements and the crashed ship. All of the backgrounds are hidden under a dark overlay.

I have been having the same issue and I tried the -force-d3d11. The game gets past the cave screen and I can play it but like tocath everything is dark. The Heroes are dark and when I supply power to a room it never lights up.

Same as tocath and snake. "-force-d3d11" fixes crashing at the splash screen, but I can't tell what rooms are lit up. Posted on the Steam forums weeks ago and it still isn't fixed. The game worked fine before it left beta. FWIW:

Hi Saylawl,

When entering "-force-opengl" (without quotes), it doesn't even start to the logo. It also crashed an open instance of Firefox running in the background. This was with the OpenGL option alone.

Here's the crash log.

Thanks!

Thank you for the files!

Do you launch the game from the Steam client or from the desktop (with a shortcut)?

Normally Steam, but I've tried compatibility mode (Windows 7) and it does the same thing. If you want I can post the logs when I'm in front of my other computer?
