DESCRIPTION - Game crashes trying to unlock new characters. Singleplayer and multiplayer. Game crashes before loading the new level that would initiate unlocking of a character.



YOUR SPECS - Win7 Enterprise. i3-2100 CPU. 8gb RAM. HD graphics card



VERSION - 1.0.43



DIRECTORY - F:\Steam\SteamApps\common\Dungeon of the Endless

Would love some input on this ASAP, as its making it pointless for me playing the game at present.

Hello Dheiti,

Could you please tell us if it happens only when you unlock a new character (and more precisely before, during or after the elevator)? Could you also provide us the following file?



GAME DIRECTORY

  • For PC: /Dungeon of the Endless
  • For MAC: ~Library/Application Support/Dungeon of the Endless




You could try to use the -force-d3d9 command in Steam:

Right Click on DotE in your Steam Library > select Properties > General > Define the launching options of the game > -force-d3d9 > Ok

It seems that you have send us the document located here: steamApp/Dungeon. In fact, we need the file "Game Directory" located in "My Documents" ^^

The DotE team looked into it and we thought that we have seen the error but this one wasn't related to your issue. Unfortunately, we tried to reproduce it but it did not work. smiley: frown

I think that you should try to re-install the game, it might fix this issue but I can't promise anything...

The title of this thread is interesting.

Because recently I have no crash at all with my games, including the infamous elevator of level 11 (freezing at 95 or 100%).

The only difference is that I have unlocked all characters and got many achievements.

So maybe the crash/freeze in the elevator is related to unlocking something.

I also feel that multiplayer looks stable for the same reasons.

Maybe this is a good hint for debuging...

During this process I tried a re-install twice - as well as verifying the files through steam. Still have the issue.
