If you close the game via alt+f4 then it completely wipes any progress you had I've had this happen twice now, and closing my games with alt+f4 is a habit. I'm also sure any other unexpected close such as with task manager will likely do the same thing. Losing my progress twice over has really killed my motivation to play this game
I did two full runs, then left the session when we were in the saloon
Then went back to my own saloon to upgrade
Then closed the game and it was all wiped
