Step by step of the bug
Step 1
Start run and get to the second floor on the laboratory map.
Step 2
Open some doors and found a room with science hacking module that gives science.
Step 3
Walk towards weird smooth texture. Also have medium quality settings with no custom changes.
Step 4
Ultra wide screen if that would have done anything :P

I've come a cross a smooth texture in a room which had invisible barriers preventing access to the rest of the room. Opening other doors revealed to me that it most likely leads to the red door unlocking module thus breaking the run.
Wasn't aware that I could have sent the save file over as well and ended the run before sending the bug report.
