As a relative newcomer to rouge-lites and tower defense (something finally clicked to make me enjoy these games) I have to say I'm super impressed with Endless Dungeon! It's got great onboarding, plenty of nodes for defense, and I'm having a blast.
Art direction and sound design are top notch. Love the frontier vibe music and aesthetic. This'll be a day 1 buy from me.
In this case, you should play Dungeon of the Endless. It's already balanced, there are more types of modules, more emphasis on character building, and the art/sound are also top-notch.
