This would hamper my partner and I's intention to purchase this game. For a co-op game like this, this feels like a huge oversight.


Hopefully the article is incorrect and only referring to that specific version.

Probably a misunderstanding on the matter. So the progress on the Meta Progression will be individual.
Example: you found a district key on MP, it will spawn 1 for each person (unless you already have it ofc).
On the case of the quest of heroes, you will only progress on the hero that you are using on that game on MP. Meaning that if you select Bunker and your friend Zed, you will progress on Bunker Hero progression and your friend only on Zed.
