Ultimately I love playing the Drakken. I am a peaceful player and I love the "learn all the histories and guide the lesser folk into the future" theme that comes across so well in gameplay. Very Big Picture faction. Plus having a tanky army of dragons is great for putting down anyone who isn't willing to play nice. Ardent Mages and Wild Walkers are tied for second.

I have yet to play as the Mages...and only have about ten turns logged with the Drakken. SOME DAY!

Broken lords... Them chivalry is so appealing and combining it with epicness of ghost gets me sold entirely.

I like the Drakkens because of their theme (History + Wisdom + Leadership). AND dragons are just too awesome! smiley: kitty

However, in gameplay I prefer the Ardent Mages cuz they are sooo dynamic. Also, I just love the ability to cast spells. I often sorely hope that other factions would have activated abilities as well, including battle abilities.

Roving Clans. For the most part, I'm a peaceful player. I resort to war if provoked.

I do like them too but the game I was 100 turns into got bugged when I applied quest gear to heroes and broke them smiley: frown

I think Wind Walkers are my second favorite.

this is actually a tough one for me. All the factions bring something to the table I really enjoy. So to pick a favorite probably has to go purely on flavor for me. Either drakken, vaulters, ardent mages. I like the whole seeking knowledge themes.

One thing I will say is wild walkers with production bonuses are so powerful it kinda makes them unfun to play. even on serious it was a cakewalk. so up goes the difficulty lol.

Broken Lords.

I'm a sucker for alternate-mechanic gameplay. Something feels good about playing by all the wrong rules.

Hmm, I like the ardent mages 'cause i like this "pain is knowledge"-theme and their graphicstyle. But the Broken Lords are too very awsome 'cause the "honorable-but-unhuman-life-sucker-Dilemma". Im not sure, but after all i think the Broken Lords are my favourit before the mages.

I want to like them too but I've heard they are "broken" late game because you can't afford new Workers. Do you find this true?

Necrophages. Being able to form giant 30/10 armies through assimilation is hilarious. (and might be a bug, I'm not sure smiley: stickouttongue) smiley: biggrin

Given my saves die around turn 120 or so every time and I play slow turns... I'm not completely sure. However in my experience they have solid upsides considering the heavy penalty to lategame growth. Particularly strong siege potential, who needs high population in your first few cities when you have an army that sweeps a new city to puppet quickly and easily.

Def not a bug. They have a massive gold cost penalty when above natural army limit :P

Yea, me too. I am stuck on the part of the quest where I need to capture or vacate a region so my lvl 7 hero search the ruins. That was more than 150 turns ago.

Title.

Mine are the Vaulters (because of the art-style) although I'd love to see some of the minor factions eventually become major factions in FREE updates...

Ardent Mages mostly because of their playstyle but also because of their looks and music theme.

Second place would be Roving Clans because from the moment they were first introduced, I turned them into the most evil, warmongering faction of all smiley: redface

Third are the Broken Lords because of their lore.

The cultists, because I made them and they play, as a cultist preacher would say in a sermon:

We are like snowflakes.

Each of us fragile,

melting at the slightest touch...

But together we advance,

sliding down the ravine.

We smother our enemies,

bury them in a cold grave.

We take their cities,

absorb their knowledge,

and freeze them to become part of us.

To shatter the Endless.

For the glory of the Queen.

We unite the peoples of Auriga,

and lead them forward.

To the Eternal End!

At release I think ardent mages will be my favorite. I like the flexability as others point out.

For now - rover clan. The artwork. The pug on the pillow. Got to love that market ban. Man thats harsh on the receiving end. I also like to settle and move settle and move micro for max food in early turns. Works well in fast gamespeed mp games.

Most powerful is Vaulters imho currently. But that could change once we learn the game more.

The Ardent Mages are mine. Love the active spells in combat and in the strategic map.

Second, and a REALLY CLOSE second I might add, is the Cultists. I love their gameplay mechanic and how absolutely messed up they are.
