I wonder if it would take much to provide an option to play a game where you can opt out of endless winters? Not everybody likes it.

I'm afraid it's a normal game feature. Indeed, according to the lore of Auriga in the faction quests, the planet is destroying itself. The winters are getting longer until the winter never ends.



That's why it is important to make sure you have at least 3 heroes with the "Winter immunity" skill, the last skill at the top of the skill tree to deal with the eternal winter. You place those heroes as administrators in your 3 best cities. Supposedly, this would allow your cities to become immune (or at least resistant) to the winter effects, just like the heroes...



I tried this myself, it helps a little bit... but not much really
