I have a little french blog and as I loved Endless Legend I wrote an article about it. I present the game as much detail as possible and I try to find answers to some questions from beginners.

1. Actually, I'm not sure many people are even aware that there's an official website for the game. It doesn't even come up on the first page of results in a Google search for "Endless Legend".

Synopsis of "new" news:



Of the total 8 playable factions in the game, four will be considered "advanced" factions because some primary mechanic of the game will be "broken" for them. This is the case for both the Roving Clans, who will be unable to declare war on any other faction (though they can manipulate other factions into declaring war on them), as well as for the Broken Lords who use Dust instead of food.



Much of the article was devoted to explaining how combat works. Summarizing this would effectively involve re-writing the entire article, so I'll leave that to your own reading.



The article also claimed that we are mere weeks away from Early-Access availability on Steam.

Synopsis of the "new" news:



This article corroborates the assertion in the PC Gamer article from three days ago: Early-Access on Steam should be expected at "the beginning of April." It further noted that three races would be available at Early-Access launch. I would presume these to be the Vaulters, Wild Walkers, and Broken Lords based on what game screenies we have so far.



The article also underscores that the player won't know precisely when the next Winter will begin. Rather, you'll have a range of turns denoting when the current season ends. Apparently you can refine these projections through "research projects."



The article also devotes time to discussing the basics of battle mechanics. As with ES, battle will occur over three phases. The author found the battles and unit movements to be "well animated."



The article makes a curious assertion about the "production of mana." My guess is that this is merely a mistake, since this resource has never been mentioned in any GDD.



Finally, there is some discussion of Prestige (the article referred to it by its original name, Imperiumspunkte, or "Empire Points"). The article implies that you spend Prestige only at the end of seasons, which doesn't quite jibe with what we knew from the Empire Plan GDD.
