it kind of looks like one of those dome things, you can see the outline of some sort of tower rising from the mound. also i think there may be some smoke coming from a chimney but im not entirely sure.

im telling you, partially underground bases may be what is causing the vaulter's cities to look so empty.

well i guess we will have to wait although the vaulter cities i think should definitely have a unique element defining them and their heritage.

Lol. I'll settle for VIP . . . or, failing that, an actual Vaulters' city screenie like the ones we've gotten for the WWs and the BLs. =)

I can hardly guess what that is with the 728 pixels (I did the math 27 * 29 pixels counted the sides and subtracted the half pixels that were on the 2 sides) did you use a snipping tool to get that?

Maybe. I kind of figured that it was the town hall hex (note the green that surrounds it--tile exploitation hexes, I presume). You'll notice that there's a tower-like element to the first-laid hex of any city we've so far seen.

It occurs to me that we have seen lots of Wild Walkers' cities and a couple different images of cities belonging to the Broken Lords, but we've yet to see any images of a Vaulters' city . . .

Either that or the pixelation is just a signal that you've been playing too much DotE.

Thanks for the (villainous!) tease. =) I guess I'll squint at the pic in wonderment and see what my imagination comes up with.

Now I have to question:

a) what will Steph'nie do to you when she finds out?

b) whether you'll be in any state to answer that question, after?

c) who'll be first to photoshop that pixelimage into s.th. interesting?

smiley: wink

still though, all it says is that the underground cities were destroyed, they might still build their buildings partially underground with perhaps the second floor on the surface, or maybe their cities have super secret improvements such as ?portals? that the devs don't want to reveal yet, as they are the first to be revealed but still have no city screenshots.

At most, the last few seconds of the video give a vague hint of a techno-Nordic architectural style through an oblique shot of part of a city mostly obscured by images in the foreground and the city wall. That's not much to go on. We have a better clue as to what dragons look like in this game given the one that seems to have been shot to death with crossbow bolts and arrows (see 44-51 seconds).

That would be awesome. However, it would be contrary to lore that says the Vaulters have come to the surface. We also haven't had the slightest peep that a layer like that exists. I'd welcome it if it does, though. I rather like the underground layer in AoW.

maybe their cities are underground or something similar and do not look like much from the surface?
