Moaning will only occur if early access is like $99.50 like some other recent showings on steam.

Judging by the early access release of DotE, which has actually been *on sale* since it became available, I don't imagine Amplitude will pull these kinds of shenanigans. (Thank goodness!)

The pricing of some Early Access games is controversial, but it ties to the amounts pledged during the Kickstarter campaigns for accessing alpha and beta versions.

Planetary Annihilation had a steep initial price and then at some point there was a sale, if memory serves. Galactic Civilizations III is basically asking for the same amount people would pledge through their own site for alpha access.

GalCiv, I'd love to see, but it's just too much money. I understand that it's basically a "lifetime subscription" to all the content that will ever be released for the game (future dlc, expansions and some perks, like naming a star, I think) but it's expensive. I'm not saying it's not (or, rather, will be) worth it, but 90+ euros is a lot of money.

I do hope Endless Legend will be more flexible (perhaps featuring different packages for people wishing to support the game at various levels), so as to get more people offering feedback and talking about the game, without the issues that -inevitably- arise from games that are approaching three figures.

A "too" early access would be abad idea. Don't you think ?

Devs are giving the best they can and are working really really hard. Don't worry.

Well, personally I'm not worried, merely excited smiley: smile

And I do agree that hitting early access too soon can seriously hurt a game -unless there are frequent updates, then it can be very interesting watching a game transform in the space of a few short weeks (Invisible Inc., for example, was quite playable -if a bit rough- from the start but it has progressed beautifully and it's a pleasure to watch it grow).

Overall, though, I'd say it's better to wait than rush into early access.

people on steam tend to get a bit, lets say angry about long pauses between updates so i suggest you keep up with those as well as you can devs!
