Hello,

I've bought the Endless Legend bundle with the DLCs some time ago and after trying it out have disliked it immediately and deinstalled it.

Well, now I've picked it up again, after the 1.5 patch and have been playing it for 30 hours now.

Am a bit surprised by that, actually...

But why I'm taking my time to write this is because there are still a few (avoidable) frustration sources in the gameplay section.

As a preamble: I'm 41 years old, have been playing computer games since i was a kid - so my views here are not really ad-hoc and are specific enough to not constitute as ranting.

So, my problems (not bugs) are:

- SETTLERS (-units/armies handling). The major gameplay gripe...

Later in the game, especially on larger maps, the settlers tend to be overlooked because they don't pop up on the map as soon as they are built.

They have to be manually activated first (made into an army, as I see it).

Building units is kind of a major part of this game's gameplay, especially the settlers, so why are they treated like some structure that has no real importance?

They should pop up on the army map view immediately as they are ready, by default. Maybe as a "Temp" army, staying active for 2 turns if not clicked?

That holds true for other units as well.

- BATTLE ANIMATIONS (SPEED). They are only changeable on the map generation screen. No option for it in-game...

- MOVING ANIMATIONS. No option to speed them up, even for a little.

- NO QUICKSAVE SLOT.

- NO "WAIT FOR A TURN" unit command in the combat/battle portion.

- AI can attack from cold war status with no repercussions (no war thereafter) from anywhere (in mine, theirs or neutral territory), whereby I have to declare war in order to attack.

Thanks for reading, and have a nice day (I really mean it).

Bye.

All in all, you have some valid points here :)

Not sure about the settlers thing. I'm not that bothered by this, since I usually do a pretty good job of tracking when & where I build settlers ...

I absolutely agree on the animations thing !!

It's been requested for SO long to be able to change the speed after starting a game.

I'd also LOVE to have movement on the map a tad quicker ...

When in battle, I usually set the stance of my units to "hold position" if I want them to stay where they are, or simply move somewhere else without engaging (e.g. for clearing space for reinforcements).

For me, this is equivalent to "wait a turn" - or am I missing something?

About the last thing, I might be wrong here, but:

- attacking an enemy army in YOUR territory OR in neutral territory doesn't require you to declare war on them

- attacking an enemy army in THEIR territory requires a declaration of war

- entering another empire's territory while "Closed borders" are in effect also requires a declaration of war

I'm pretty sure that the AI needs to spend influence when declaring war (if war NEEDS to be declared, that is ...), just as human players do.

all good suggestions

i specially agree on the wait one turn but i would like it if it could do the same as civ V where you could tell you unit to wait for a turn or if you put it to sleep it would go active if an enemy unit gets in view or you issue a move order

Regarding your last point : it might be a bug, but if you're playing with Tempest I think it's more likely you got Black Spotted by a Morgawr AI. I've never, ever been attacked in my territory by AI with whom I was at Cold War (neutral/third-party territories as well as their own empire is all fair game of course)

Hi,

regarding the "freebie attack" issue: I've played with three different factions now and can confirm that the enemy AIs can attack me anywhere when in cold war and there are no issues for them.

I noted that I can also pillage freely in their territory, when in cold war - which also seems weird, as pillaging their buildings in their territory should constitute a war-provoking action.

I've also had the enemy AI wandering freely in my territory after I've declared closed borders.

But, those are not the main points I wanted to convey (the upper five are, as they concern the game comfort).

The diplomacy thing might be a bug.

OK, bye bye.
