Started this thread to bring attention to UI game mechanics.

Just bought Founder's and thus far have 2 suggestions:
• Game generation settings should be saved from previous UI interaction
  • End Turn should present UI notification of unused units

  •
I've played recently (as in a day ago) a multiplayer game of civ5, while "end turn" notifications are nice in singleplayer they can be really annoying in multiplayer where the game forcing you to move things or "hints" just get in the way.

"I dont care the city is not building anything"

"I dont care that unit needs to be told to sleep"

    1. Yes please.

    2. Tickbox option, off by default - similarly for cities not building anything, also yes please.

Great. I've found a place to start smiley: smile

Played around 75 turns in single player using the Vaulters and I'm loving this game. It has huge potential to be one of the best. Stopped playing Civ 5 as navigating units around was tedious, but not a problem here. So onto the UI stuff.

    1. Yes. One of the first I've noted is the saved game settings are reset every time. I'm sure this is a bug/oversight that will be fixed.

    2. Optional - as glutamate says above. Good point.

    Here's a few other pointers.

    3. In general there is way too much clicking through the UI to get to what you're looking for. I'd recommend moving some of the options for managing the game into the windows depending on if it's units or city.

    4. There's a bug in the UI with alerts moving from stacked above each other to joining in a single line that disappears off the screen edge.

    5. City improvements button is not intuitive to find. Suggest it's placed in the city build window on the bottom left where you would naturally look for what exists and how to manage your city.

    6. Likewise the assimilation button for conquered minor tribes is tucked away in the empire management screen. Took me 60 odd turns to find it.

    7. Unit management from the city to garrison to army is a pain as set up. First you build, then you create an army (of one) then you have to garrison or have an army on a bordering tile to join or it doesn't work. Far better to be able to do this from the same window using the same city tile.

    8. Hovering over the 'End Turn' button causes a window summary of other civs to pop up and obscure the button. Most annoying on smaller screens.

    9. Army view does not give info on how many free spaces are available. You have to go to the smiley: stickouttongueower: menu to check this. OK - I know that for some we can keep this info in our head, but not everyone will.

But my main gripe at this point is the number of clicks to get to the info or action you need.

Onwards and upwards I think for this game. Hope the devs team are listening.

When in the city screen and cycling through cities, it should take you to the city screen of the next one. Right now it takes you to the strategic map centered on the next city.
