City art tiles should evolve for the sake of coolness

I was very pleased to notice that my city art tiles change as I add districts, but was a little displeased to note that there was a limit to the kinds of art tiles that show up.

I thought, wouldn't it be cool if cities had:

1. Art tiles for the higher-level districts like level 5? It's a real in-game achievement on it's own merits, but some new art assets of cool buildings would be even better.

2. Art tiles for conquered cities where the art is a combination of the conquered Faction and the new one? For example, the Vaulters could take a Wildwalkers city and the result would be a city that had bits of green in with the black.

3. Art tiles showing the presence of your assimilated minor faction? For example, the Haunters might have one spiraling black glass tower per population that shows up in your city when you have have them adding to your population.

I have not yet actually gotten a city or district to level 2 before finishing the game. I am surprised that the city appearance does not develop as it levels, though perhaps this is an aspect that is merely incomplete but is anticipated in the final design.

I understand how to get to level 2. How do you get to level 3? Is it a matter of having two hexes which are surrounded by districts and 3 hexes for level 4 etc.?

Level 2 cities evolve with new art assets. It's really neat.

Making level 3's does involve putting three 2s around a 2, and making 4s is almost the same process and uses 3s.

And yes, I had to go well beyond the 200 turn limit to get a city to 4 and it happened well after the win.

[QUOTEusername='[VGN]Albion;175512']Aesthetics really can wait until the game has its features in order, ya'think?[/QUOTE]

I'm pretty sure that the guys who make models don't program new features.

I confirm that reaching level 3-4 means having the 4 of the less value distrincts around them. That means a lot of district overall. It seems to me there is a variation between level 2-3 district architecture and that's nice because you may end up with very very big cities visually (at least with necrophage)

I like how the districts just sourrounds anomalies instead of hiding them and use a the watchtower model when put on a base.

About 2-3, I think the game lacks an conquest mechanic right now. I hope just hoping in and having a functionning city will change. Districts may swap models one by one while you assimilate that city.

And yes districts tied to a local minor faction visual would be really nice. Actually it could even be a special district enabled by that minor faction.

Though, as mentioned, the devs should focus on other things right now, I very much hope these suggestions are implemented down the road!
