Please tell me you are working on more units for the minor factions. Right now by age 3-4 the units feel pretty underpowered, but I could see having them all along would be too strong so why not when you hit age 3 each of the minor factions gets a new unit maybe something again at age 5. The minor factions are thematically cool and I find it a shame I really don't use the units much outside of occasionally early game.

We have to see how many units the main factions will get in the end. Currently with only one minor units you get 3 factions + 2 minor in your roster, a balanced mix imho.

And of course if you want to add one units that would be instantly designing 8 more units, unless they choose to only have so minor factions allow for a secondary unit.

I don't see why you don't use them later on. Their skills can be devastating, and equipement wise they can be upgraded as much as your core units.

Each faction gets 3 units total and 1 hero as currently planned for release. You can have up to 3 minor factions I believe through research and you can customize all your units, but mostly I think this will just be upgrades of your previous units

Think of the units as mere archetypes to build off of. When you consider that you can customize what items the unit utilizes you realize that you have an exponential amount of unit variety.

Right, and that took a little while to sink in, when I first saw the game. It's not immediately obvious because the 3D graphics don't change, but the units are more like the different sizes of ship hulls in Endless Space, that can be customized in different directions. When I made the connection to ship designs in ES, suddenly it clicked.

It's a neat idea, and should make balancing the game easier than just throwing a bunch of visually different units in the game that you gradually move through and discard as you along, like Total War. Especially for a small studio with limited 3D modeling and animation resources. I just worry that because it isn't immediately obvious how this works, the game might not get reviewed as well on release by those who take a quick look at the units and assume "that's all there is."
