I truly love the system of utilizing strategic resources to upgrade and outfit your heroes and troops, but i hope the system will be more robust in future iterations.



I found that there simply was no reason to choose equipment not Glassteel resource based for the first 4 tiers of research and content. A higher critical chance was not reason to loose out on damage, initiative, and defense stats in the case of Titanium. Pure defense that was out competed by Glasssteel makes Adamantian equipment slightly lacking. Palladian is the only resource that competes with Glassteel, because it offers comparable defense upgrades while providing an appetizing upgrade in damage.



So I hope that there can be multiple types of armor for each strategic resource, so that Titanium can be more appealing in the early game, and potentially providing more interesting options in Tier 1 Adamantian and Palladian. Perhaps offering Titanium that increases movement speed, or Glassteel that increases health instead of defense. Hopefully that's an easy thing to implement and allows for a large amount of meaningfull army choice.

On top of that if you get Swiftness (bonus damage up to 80%) it makes Glassteel ahead of everything else.

Althout, I fell in love for Dust items - is it specific to Broken Lords? -.

Glass steel is definately way too good right now.



In general, I don't really like the whole each unique resource focuses on stat system. Early game, this locks you into very few choices.

I think if titanium is the one giving the most defense/attack they will be balanced. Initiative is a really good stat, to the point I often give a glass steel chestpiece to units even after reaching tier 3 materials. So it should give too much additional stats on the side.

Crits are good if you have higher base attack. +10% from 100 is better than +10% of 20. And flat bonus is altered by inherit crit rate...

Glassteel gets initiative, higher dmg, higher armor. Where is balance here?



IMHO it would be interesting initial choice for initiative vs defense.

Sole initiative is good since:

- for ranged you could focus fire.

- you could trigger off enemy special ability.

- if counterstrike dealt % of initial dmg that would set even melee with different priority

- there could a profit from flanking, so being able to catch enemy before it moves (off guard) will again benefit.

- enemies with less than 50% health should deal less dmg. So there will be option to soften enemy with range, and then let in melee dps.



Pure defense is good since that saves money, allows to get experience, and allows to specialize in tank/dps. Which would leave initial choice off attack bonus, but that could be achived with leveling or weapon choice.

Every faction may access Dust items not only the Broken Lords.

I agree with these points, but also I am disappointed by the aesthetic similarities among factions. It's a very minor gripe but it is a bit bizarre to see a Ryder sporting the same axe as my Dawn Officer

My friend played el the other day and one of his biggest complaints was the fact that equipment hardly made units look any different. I know balance will come so I'm not concerned with that; I am concerned with units looking the same though (heroes too while at it).
