Problem: Scouting seems to take a lot of time and turns. And it has some apeal that we are working in the mist. There could be some more options to uncover unknown.



1. Trade the map with other faction - when diplomacy strikes.

2. With tresure hunting tech we get chance to not only get dust, but some "special" tresure (like luxies, items, materials) and among them chance to revail region map.

3. Tech allowing to revail whole map. Or ability to burn research point to for mapmaking on each region separetly.

4. Making deals (parley bribe) with minor tribes also gives map.

5. Hero walk alone as separete unit, could even spec in scouting: faster movment, faster recovery after "death".



Some of them may be overkill, but others would be very nice to see. Especially map from minors (this quest doing takes time), or one tech to learn whole map (so Vaulters will have something to burn research for).

Yes ! I agree. I haven't played Endless Space for ages but I remember the exploration part was smooth and always full of thrill.

There was lots of galaxies, right, but we couldn't move freely. It was almost all about moving on rails early game.



In Legends' early game, when every move point counts, I tend to move hex by hex to be sure I don't waste any point by drifting too far from a ruin and it's boring (and I don't want to be challenged on my skill to reroute my moving troops as soon as I see a ruin nearby ^^) .

A cool thing would be to have some feedback on the location of specific things still hidden in the fog of war (not something big in terms of range, just something like the move range of the selected troop ). The feedback wouldn't give off the nature of the object still hidden (is it strategic resources, ruins, luxies, anomalies ?) to continue to provide surprise/disappointment.

It may appear too strong of a power and it's probably true so maybe something like "this faction can sense this kind of thing earlier than this faction".
