SUGGESTION (probably already suggested) Victory via the faction quest

I would be surprised that it has not been already suggested, but as I dont see it in the summary post from the dev nor in the two first pages here, here it is..



The narration of the faction quest is so huge, I think it would be very nice that it leads to the victory at its end. In fact, the more I think to it the more I am convinced that it should be!



I would add a nice parrallel way to victory, and would add some nice diversity to the classic military/science/economy one.

Agreed. I think balancing the Faction Quests to make pacing equal among all the factions will be VERY hard to make this happen.

However, the time it takes to complete the faction questlines, and the narrative places they end, make victory a fitting reward.

Yes, I've been assuming it's already been planned that completing the faction quest chain is a possible path to victory. I like the idea because it encourages players not to allow for turtling. And some of the quest chains don't even allow turtling to complete.

I vaguely recall the devs stating that the Faction Quests would be a viable victory condition quite some time before the game even hit Early Access. Given that the Vaulters restore a space ship and the Ardent Mages virtualize themselves, that seems reasonable.

It'll be hell to balance, though.

Concerning the balance point, obviously it will not be easy, but as far as I know perfect balance in 4x asymetric game is utopic, and in fact imbalance is part of the fun to some point, so I may be wrong but I do not see this as a critical point.
