Allow empire wide tax rates (like in Endless Space)

It's super restrictive to not be able to tinker with tax rates in order to balance happiness, for those who want a temporary production bonus, for example.



Why was this feature which was present in Endless Space removed?

Because there is no concept of "tax" in EL. All Dust is generated for terrain, city improvements or trade routes, not from taxing citizens...

Tax in this game is more assigning citizens to generate dust, if you want more production then assign them similarly.

Then I think it's doubly weird that there is no way to use money to generate happiness. I mean, I would get if this was the case in Endless Space, but in a medieval fantasy setting? Weird...

Once you have the necessary tech, you can buy luxuries in the marketplace with money, boosting happiness all across your empire. So there is a way to use money to generate happiness. smiley: wink
