There's a point in the game where it can become difficult to raise more population in your cities.

Cost can grow rapidly depending on your expansion.

And as Spacetroll said in today's stream, giving the ability to the Broken Lords to produce more dust would unbalance things.

So i was remembering that artwork where a stalwart suck the energy out of a person, and i thought why not make a similar mechanic as the one from the necrophages, where a stock pile (of dust or "energy") is created and later on, consume it to boost one of your cities growth (or reduce the cost in dust to add 1 smiley: stickouttongueopulation:.

Or something like: Every "x" combats or killed units / number of cites = +1 smiley: stickouttongueopulation: stock

Tweaking the algorythm that defines the cost of population growth is probably the simpliest solution, but i wanted to point out that idea, using a mechanic that is already in place, and the inspiration from the background.

I don't know if I precisely agree with SpaceTroll on more dust production unbalancing Broken Lords, if it was truly unbalancing it would be disabled in the custom factions menu.

All of the presets need significant tuning anyway.

With regards to Broken Lord population adding passive growth based on dust progression (and dust consumption based on population) would probably fix the issue completely.

As usual, nice suggestion Jazzmiq. smiley: wink

Actually there is already somekind of such mechanism in game. At one time during the faction quest, chap 4 or 5 I dont remember, you unlock the "Dust Crematorium", which give you dust for each xp gained in battle, or something like taht.

It is a very good tech and a very good mechanism IMO.
