Release? I have reason to complain, some feature failed...

Hi,



first i have some preferences in gaming(300+games) und my favorit genre 4X(or turn-based, GalCiv1-2, Civ1-5, Total War, Sins of a Solar Empire and... Endless Space an any more).

Endless Legend has some nice features an ideas, a really harmonic grafic with a nice style, nice game - and better than expected (and better than Endless Space smiley: wink ).



But im confused too, the Diplomacy(+/-) is a feature without function, alliance/allied complete without function.



My handwritten comes now in your forum, fist the big problems. smiley: cool



1) Diplomacy - Alliance

- The funktions for "peace" and "alliance" are a bit to late(i think one age earlier, but its a small problem)

- You cant see where your conversational partner stands, no points or bar (i think there must be points 0-100, 0 is back in the list (war, peace etc.) 100 is up in the list (alliance, peace etc.) )

- You cant see other wars (can i go in a alliance with him? can i declare war too and have a better chance?)

- There are no point for stop a war for other/allied, also to say stop war with "other/allied" or i come too/stop war with "other/allied" i stop too.

- Alliances.... completely without function, a fake feature, a big problem(with point 2). Sorry. smiley: embarassement

-- What is a alliance? To protect other or himself (or a feature to declare war... smiley: wink )...

---> No message, nothing says >>>Lock! Your allied is under attack/war.

---> Normally, a attacker declare war to the complete alliance. Alliances are sometimes a good idea sometimes not... but in Endless Legend is a alliance without function. Very sad. (i think the attacker must pay infuence for the complete alliance, well, figured up: influence for war particular 250/250/250, alliance 750)



2) Diplomacy - Towns/regions

- Handle Towns, a very very importend feature in 4X - a feature that is not in Endless Legend(what i all did ->broke a alliance, declare war, give back the towns from other war, pay again influence for peace/alliance.... some factions...uhm... not in my backyard). Very very sad. smiley: stickouttongue

---> Handle Towns back to an allied that lost it

---> Handle Towns for stop a war/make war (i give "Town" for peace/give me "town" otherwise war)

---> Handle Towns for "pimp" other (mostly allied...)

---> Handle Towns for strategy (not in my backyard, provoke war, ressources, trade/street)

---> Handle Towns for money (problem with empire/money, peaceful territorial aggrandizement, i think so 1000Dust per People...)

---> ExChange Towns (mostly for peace - i give back, you give back or give back for peace)

3) Towns/regions

- Mostly nice to have features WHEN there are eventually, somedays... a diplomacy ingame.

---> After capture (Town) a Pop-up with: self, give to (other/allied), back (enemie)

---> The ownership ascends to fast, a slower mode can combined with the diplomacy. From 0-99 you can give back, give a other/allied, the last owner can say give me back (for... money, war, peace etc.).

---> The defense-bonus not before the ownership has 100%

---> Militias not before the ownership has 100% (Militias with the enemy? Crazy. :sarcasticsmiley: smile

---> There are no Capitol feature, somtimes a other factions has no (more) capitol (i think the Capitol is the Town with this founder-monument, rebalanced the momument with +3 and make it degressive for regions, also Capitol + 3, next region + 2, third region from capitol + 1, a circle...and let it remake after lost it)



4) Minor Faction

- Nice to have...

- There are no place in the empire for all minor factions and someone or/are sometimes not useful, but you have some destroyed villages.

---> Villages from "integrated" minor faction can build in the complete empire. (i think a easy way should be the build-menu, there are villages, comined it = assimilated minor faction can build in the empire)

---> Infuence for the peaceful way and ? for attack(... money certainly smiley: stickouttongue )

EDIT:

In addition to the tiny diplomacy.

Sometimes the bar (to end a war, peace, etc) for your offer dont go forward.

A half bar for Gold (check), a half bar for spice (check) an a technologie. Klick, klick, klick and... nothing, do all what you have in this conversation.... nothing. I see a bug. smiley: wink

Hi, with 1.02 patch so far, diplomacy can shine further with more functions but I have yet to believe that diplomacy "fail" after all.



1.

a. The age for researching alliance is late because this will hinder other race to compete diplomacy victory condition with Draken, which should be the main goal for Draken instead

b. There is a bar indicate the standing of each treaty

c. When you click the diplomacy screen, hover your mouse on the character and you will see an orange color icon that looks like [] where you can know his/her diplomatic relationship with other races

I have to say that Alliance is a bit lack of function at this moment, I would love to see more stuff being implemented without overpowering Draken.



2. I absolutely agree with tributing a city or town to another faction, but this function should be implemented carefully.

Otherwise, you can exploit AI with tons of resources for exchanging a town; which is what I did in other strategy games. Or exploit Vaulters teleportation by exchanging a town that you have with a faction far away.



3. There is a "Capital" feature in game... that's why there is a Supremacy Victory condition... and which is why you shouldn't be able to rebuild a capital.



4. I would love to see more features for the minor faction, but the current game consider minor faction to be more like a resource than a diplomatic feature. And if more feature is implemented, the game gotta be balanced out in a way that Cultist won't be too left out with those new features.

Diplomacy is a major work in progress. Until they add espionage, diplomacy won't be complete. It needs more power too, as well as flavor texts. It's all coming.
