Hi reader,

First of all, i know the game is just fresh released and noone is even thinking about an expansion/Addon, but since i am currently just so amazed by this whole game i had some ideas of my own. I propably am not the first one and i won't be the last i guess, but i figured there is no harm in leaving my idea here, in case anyone really likes it.

So, here is my Idea:

Name:

the Drowned Architects (not fixed, but the best idea so far)

Concept:

Amphibian beings, that are specialised on building cities on coasts

Opening:

“We were always here! But while these Intruders dwell in the glory of the Dust, we are longing for a more enduring solution. And when the last grain of dust is used up, they will see, that only the things you've built by your own force are made to persist. Perhaps they will learn from our example. And if not, they will die as the fools they are.”

Traits:

Wetlanders:

-2 Dust from Sea-Tiles

+1 Production from Sea-Tiles

+1 Food from Sea-Tiles

Fish, not Flesh:

-1Food from land terrain

+1 Food from Rivers and Sea (additional to Wetlanders)

Natural Equilibrium:

can not assign workers to food-production

Amphibious:

Units can travel on water without ships researched. They pay no cost for transferring to water, but are slow on land.

Also, Units only heal when on or adjacent to water.

Patriotism:

You can not assign Heroes of other factions to your cities

Leave a Mark:

killing a Unit awards influence

wet Streets: (maybe the most important thing!)

can build districts on Sea-Tiles.

Those Districts only have -5 initial Approval-loss, produce no Dust, but twice the science.

They are destroyed when the city gets captured and are converted to a production-boost.

Research:

Start: Aquapulvistics → fishing Grounds (produces food, not Dust)

Mill Foundry unlocked

Era II: Monument of Unison:

bonus-Production for every worker and bonus-

Production and bonus-Science on every water-district

Heroes:

optimistic founder: (another important difference)

heroes can found a city with 0 citizens, that does not produce a resource except food.

When the population becomes 1 (1 or 2 turns), the city is converted to a normal city.

When a hero does that, he get's send to the academy for ½ the death-time.

Faction-Tree:

Focus on Production and Science-Increase

Units:

(no Settler) →

Worker-Squad: infantry, no good for fighting, but the field it's on (unexploited by other faction) counts towards the exploitation of the city (no

Production, no Dust, additional Food (depending on Level), gains XP by being out of the city)

Drowned Guard: (big frogs) → infantry, good against cavalry, good defence, free counter

Icy Archers: (Serpents) → ranged, slowing targets

Leviathan: (Big, walking fish-monster) → Tank/Support: low damage, immense durability, buffs surrounding units

Storyline:

The Population is trying to find a good middleway of living like they used to (water, respecting nature) and adapting to new knowledge (using Dust).

Quests: (some examples)

New Ways: found a city → hero gets resurrected

New Neighbours: Pacify a minor faction → Influence

Spread the Word: Colonize a new territory → free Worker-Squad

Strong Foundation: Build the “Monument of Unison” in a city → Unlocks a Research

Strong Roots: improve a water-district to Level 2 → new Hero

I figured this could be a nice addition, especially since i heards that a lot of players wish for an expanded marine-gameplay.

I just hope this idea does not just get lost in the vast space of this forum^^

Have a nice day

With more water-based factions like this, the devs are gonna have a lot of options to choose from, eh? Looks like aquatic factions are just meant to be after all! smiley: smile
