Another DLC with a community created faction?

I've been thinking, since you guys aren't yet ready for a sequel to Endless Legend and haven't ruled out more DLC's for Endless Legend, why not do a another community faction? Endless Space 2 is getting a second one, and the cultist turned out really well for a faction. Another reason I'm creating this thread is because I have a suggestion (and there's still no idea tab for endless legend).

The Boa: A faction inspired by the mongolian death worms. Basically race sentient giant worms.

  • Special Abilites
    • All faction units can move through ridges, cliffs, and ignore terrain movement cost.
    • Can create tunnels which work similar to golem camps but can also transport troops to and from the regions city, even if it's besieged.
    • Can use an army action to tunnel into faults lines to recover dust diamonds (more on these on down).
  • Faction Units and Appearance
    • Burrowers - an infantry unit (appears as three worms in battle)
    • Rollers - a cavalry unit (appears as two worms in battle)
    • Excavator - a support unit (appears as a single large worm)
    • Heros - cavalry unit type (appears more humanoid in shape due to it being made of thousands of smaller individual worms, it rides a roller)
    • Leader - similar to the hero units but without the roller
    • Naval Transport - large worm with rocky looking structure on top of it.
    • City Appearance - structures that are made of rock that appear to be carved into shape.
  • DLC Feature Ideas
    • New Terrain Feature "Fault Line" - large cracks that can go across up to three regions, impassable by most units (like ridges and cliffs), only one tile wide and up to 20 tiles long.
    • New Terrain Feature "Caves" - These are similar to ruins, in which you can find stuff inside if you explore it. Dust Diamonds can be found in these.
    • New Resource "Dust Diamonds" - similar to pearls, can be found in caves by anyone. Can be used for weapons, armor, and accessories, certain buildings, and one new city district.
    • New City District "Fault Borough" - acts as a bridge to build on the other side of the fault line in regions, only one per region, produces one of each strategic resource but cost 10 of each plus some Dust Diamonds (exact amount unsure right now), cost doubles for each one in empire.
    • Possible new buildings that require Dust Diamonds.
  • Lore/Background
    • The Boa are led by a queen and all units are controlled by her directly, heroes are created to be somewhat autonomous to help with managing the empire. Some come into contact with dust and lose their link with the Queen and they go rogue (like the craver heroes in Endless Space 2).
    • The Reason the leader appearance isn't the Queen is because she never goes above ground and the "leader" you talk to in diplomacy is a vessel through which she communicates with to others.
    • The Boa are native to Auriga and were not created by the Endless, at least not directly. Originally the Boa where not hive minded, they were just large worms that fed on a diet of minerals and dead organic matter. When the Endless bombarded Auriga, radiation from the bombardment along with contact with a large amount of Dust, the Queen was created. Since the surface was in ruins she fled deep underground and created the hive. The Boa became parasites, not like the Necrophages, they were parasites to Auriga itself, feeding off her essence (this is why pearls never surfaced before, and part of the reason Auriga is dying).
  • Reason for Surfacing
    • The "Great Quake" mentioned in the Vaulters intro destroyed much of the hive, and combined with Auriga dying (meaning the Boa aren't getting as much essence as before), plus an increase in geothermal activity (thanks to the Kapaku's volcanoforming). The Hive could not be rebuilt, at least not underground.

They aren't a swarm faction like the cravers and necrophages, even though they're hive minded. Their main victory type is Wonder since they are builders. And their AI behavior is "dismissive" meaning they care little about conquering or interacting with other races, that is unless you're aggressive towards them or share a border with them (because they view that you are in their way).

I would add more but at the moment I've got to get to work. Feel free to give you own suggestions and opinions.

I like the idea for the boa, though I would say that any additional mechanics in the game could potentially lead to things that only a small group of players would actively use. Personally I would suggest that any new faction synthesise the mechanics that are already in the game, as this way there would be less development work required for a new faction, while allowing the focus to be placed on the faction itself. This way you could end up with a really rich and well-rounded faction that is harmonised with the exisiting factions out of the gate.

Does amplitude do DLC's with just factions though? But I'm glad you like the Boa, I've had the idea for a while.
