Not polished since ideas are floating on Papers. Wanted to contribute something too

Diplomatic/Expand

automaticly gains districts if available

doubles the amount of penalty on districts

no empireplan

Heroes contains of races of you can assimilate

doubles the amount of hapinesspenalty on districts

Base Unit-Marauder, Infantry

Tier 1 Unit-Stone throwing Jerks, Ranged ( if they cant find one, it can happen that they thow their shoes)

Tier 2 Unit-Partycaravan, Support (cost one pop)

influence can be used to create stockpiles upon quest early

no expanding penalties on happiness upon Quest mid

Either been cast out or looking for an adventure, those individuals gathered. They all know

that it would be impossible to survive alone. With the Winters getting colder, and their homes

being more and more pressured they seek for an answer.

Gameplay

You must expand to reduce poplulation and with this the unhappiness. No empireplan of being independent

with no real leader. It is more about maintancing control playing them. I like the idea

for the villages not being to passive in the game. I really want to see some Heroes of the passive ones too smiley: biggrin

But i should get them atleast a leader. A sister of Mercy? Due to their heavy need for expanding, they will have low military units, relaying a bit on assmililated ones too. Maybe they should get that quest research for free. They rely more on Quantaty then Quality and rely heavy on lvling up.Their Quests should involve other empires and the villages for maximus running aroundus like a goofus.

Ill will be adding more. Dont have time but want to read ideas later.

Mechanics seem to be rough around the edges. Free districts would be incredibly OP, but double approval penalty means you can not have a positive approval balance and since you can't opt to not build districts your empire would be at constant rebellion. Having 50% of everything is probably not worth having free districts after all.

How about a "Bard" faction: A faction that has great value for music, festivals, freedom and population happiness? They are the "Liberators" of Minor Cultures, and they will use rebellion and revolution to defend themselves against other factions. In fact, the Bard faction itself is Minor Faction "revolutionaries".

They have the ability to recruit Roaming Armies with Influence or Dust. Any unit you control can use the "Recruit" option on Roaming Armies. Recruited units have no upkeep.

Minor Factions and Roaming armies will never attack the Bards, but also the Bard faction can't attack Minor Villages or Roaming Armies (Can only Bribe, Parley or Recruit).

They have no faction units. They can ONLY produce and retrofit assimilated Minor units and Settlers. They can't retrofit recruited roaming armies or non-assimilated minor units.

After Minor Villages are Pacified, they will still have their own garrison and they will still produce Roaming Armies. You can't control these Roamers (but you can Recruit them). Also, they are considered "Friendly", and they will reinforce each other and your armies in battle.

When the Bards are at War with another Major Faction, the other faction will get -10 approval in each City per each Minor Village in its region. When Happiness reaches less than 30% in the enemy City, they will get a "Rebellion" timer. The timer will increase by one point for every turn that approval is at 30% or less. When it reaches 5 Points, REBELLION will happen:

Rebellion: Whenever a rebellion happens, each minor village will spawn a Rebel Army that will attack the City. Then the Rebellion timer will reset itself >> process will repeat. You can't control the Rebel armies, but they can reinforce you many times each turn.

Rebel Armies, Friendly Roaming armies and armies you control ALL OF THEM can reinforce each other. They can reinforce each other at 3 times the usual distance (so possibly 12 tiles?). This is good for BOTH offense and defense.

Your own armies can reinforce rebels and roamers in battle, but you can only control your own armies in battle. The others are ALWAYS controlled by AI.
