Hey everyone,

a friend of me had the idea that you could improve the shown FIDS boni in the tiles for better clarity. So for example boni +4 or higher could be bold text or otherwise tagged (other colour, ...). When you have many tiles of forest or something, you oversee sometimes anomalies with high boni. Maybe you can add it optional for people who want to use such feature.

Best regards

I second this, but I'll generalise a bit as well.

After a few games and about 12 hours sunk into this game my biggest issue with it is the way FIDS are displayed. I think it's mostly due to the fact that they seem to have a fixed place within the hex, which creates empty space when the tile is missing one or more of the resources. This space confuses when in context with neighbouring tiles, as the grouping becomes less clear, and blur with adjacent tiles.

I noticed that the empty space in the middle of the hexes seem to fit additional three circles of yields, and that the city center tiles show influence in one of these spaces, not sure what the rest of the space is for yet. But my point is that this reserved middle space of the hexes do more hurt than help as the majority of hexes will never have a reason to show influence, as the basic unsettled tiles never yield it, save for maybe some anomalies.

Bottom line, I don't think the centre of hexes should be reserved to secondary resources.

I've played a fair amount of Civilization 5 and BE and I have to say that I prefer their tile yield display better. They centre the tile yield, rather than spread them out, creating a more dense centre easier to perceive as a cohesive hex. Also I must point out that they do not rely on numbers primarily, instead displaying a number of smaller icons representing the yield, only relying on numbers when a resource yields more than five units.

I wouldn't mind if there was something similar in Endless Legend, I'll take graphs and icons over text and numbers any day.

Also what's with the city selection UI? There are extra yellow hexes showing up hovering above the tiles? Do they serve a purpose? I'm just confused by them as they and the FIDS together effectively block any view of the city tiles making it hard to discern what is a district/centre and what level it is. The only purpose I can see them fulfilling is to group the FIDS together, something that could be done by just grouping them together rather than cluttering the hex with even more things.

OK, rant is done.

I like this game and I want it to be as good as it can that's why I care about this smiley: wink
