Weaknesses of EL

although I have been playing this title since a bit before the Wimter allayi dlc, i have found that it has a few issues/missed opportunities. Some of them glaring than others. i really enjoy this game, and hope that they continue to make improvements to it.

With that said, here is my list. ( some may be on that list of suggestions, but on my phone i cannot see them if they are there)

1. Shared allied vision/alliances is missing as a setting - I simply cannot understand this. As a multiplayer strategy title, that is a basic feature. not something you wait for after 5+ DLC's. How are the DEV's ok with this?

The reason this matters so much is that it gives players the fun of watching their allies play battles out instead of just sitting there waiting for the other player to finish up. which often takes a long time. Yes, there are options to ally later, but do i really need to wait 80+ turns or however long it takes to get to that tech just to see what my ally is doing?

2. The weak combat system. i understand that they are unlikely to change this as it is the way they wanted it. but it is often unpredictable, and you cant tell a unit to move where onr of your units already is. with very limited battle space this is strange.

3. Villages unique to each faction (khazanji ect). This is pretty important, because endless legend, in my opinion relies heavily on immersion for enjoyment of the experience. This cant possibly take that long to make, and would go a long way to the aforementioned immersion as well as making it easy to distinguish between villages.

4. No minimap. yes, i get it, you can zoom out. which is fine, but still is an expected feature in a strategy title.

5. The ocean animations and battle system was a massive letdown for me. Firstly, the ship shooting an arrow at the front of it was a real letdown. I thought these ships had cannons? or some of them harpoons or whatnot. why is EL always skimping out on animations? I am not asking for much, and am willing to pay for it. Again, when the setting is fantasy, immersion matter more then history, because your mind cannot "fill in the gaps"as well, per say.

The battle system for ships is a letdown. it is the same battle system as the ground battles. This was an opportunity for the devs to make the ocean feel different, and allow us a different experience.

To sum things up, EL feels like it cutting corners on important features, and not going far enough with the opportunity to immerse the player. This is something that I see as rectifiable with some work, they can perhaps make a small expansion to attemt to improve some of these aspects in the future since they arent ready for EL 2.0 yet. just remember that Civ: Beyond Earth didnt go far enough with their immersion, and that ended as a major flop.

I wish the dev team all the best, and thank them for giving something to play now that I am bored of Civ as a franchise. I hope to hear your responses, and really appreciate the long term support this game has received.

For point 2, you can hold alt and right click to order your unit to move to a currently occupied tile.

The Battle System is actually very predictable, the main issue (as with many things in EL) is, that its not explained anywhere properly. Many people dont know, that they can queue orders or (like you) use alt-click to target tiles that are currently occupied.
