Anyone else dislike the way the game displays unit stats instead of equipment?

I don't know if I'm all alone here, but I really dislike the way that game makes unit cards. They're full of a bunch of numbers that I don't much feel like memorizing or comparing or calculating. I know what Drakkenlings are like. I know how levels scale. And I know what kind of benefits titanium equipment provides-- but i can't even tell if they're carrying titanium equipment.

I would so much prefer if the units (especially enemy units) were instead displayed the way they are on the retrofit screen. I can much more easily gauge the strength of unit by knowing what kind of equipment its carrying than I can by comparing stats.

Even with friendly units, this is a problem-- since only the most recent template is accessible, I have to keep track of which of my friendly templates use which strategics. It makes it really hard for me to gauge how to upgrade certain templates, and how weak premodern units are.

Not a huge deal, just wondering if other people have some of the same issues, or if some people strongly prefer the way that unit cards are displayed in the current game.

Yeah, I've often wished there was some way I could see enemy equipment.

I mean, realistically you'd be able to know what weapon they're carrying more easily than their exact stats!

Not necessarily on the mouse-over popup because you don't want that covering the entire screen, but somewhere would be nice.

Yeah I mentioned this in previous threads too.

After building a unit, sometimes I forget what specific equipment it has especially towards the end-game, when I have many large armies.

And so, when I create custom units, I need to compare their equipment effectiveness.

In other games with unit customization, you can see that the total value of a stat (such as "Attack") is a combination of:

1) Base value (depending on the unit's level and traits)

2) + Racial traits modifier

3) + Equipment modifier

4) + terrain, morale modifiers etc...

In Endless Legend, I think we just need the equipment effect... at least

EDIT: To be honest, it's not a very urgent feature for me though. Just improving the overall quality

I agree that there should be some option to see the equipment without checking the templates. Further, when I am in the template/equipment screen I would really like to see comparisons. The best way I like it done is when you mouse-over an item, the changes to stats on the character are shown next to the stat number, positives in green and negatives in red. That way I can directly see and assess the impact of a certain piece of gear. This should include traits (lost traits go red, new are green).

Kind of like this other awesome game I play, Dungeon of the Endless. smiley: biggrin

Just played a game as Roving Clans.

It's super annoying not being able to see unit equipment in the market or on any of my own mercenary units, let alone enemies.
