it all starts out great.. build2 has lvl2 armor/weps.. you upgrade to glass steel and your first army gets retrofitted with all the good glass steel gear (build3).. you have other units that were previously in the build queue with no glass steel gear.. when they pop you retrofit them if you have enough glass steel..

now comes the problem.. i want more units but dont have enough glass steel.. so as the game stands you cant queue up the unit to build.. so if i want to add a unit to the queue i need to create a new build (build4).. then respec them (build5) when i have enough glass steel.. then respec when i dont (build6).... on and on.

this is all very annoying and frustrating and mentally exhausting.. especially when there is very little indication of what each unit is wearing when i look to retrofit them.. at minimum there should be two loadouts available.. one is a stripped down version and the other is your most recent build.. this way we can at least put a unit in the build queue without constantly respeccing the buildout.. optimally there should be multiple loadouts available to choose from when selecting what to build.

You can make completely new units with different loadouts. I see no reason why you couldn't have a Dawn Officer with T2 Glassteel and one with T1 Titanium.

I used a very simple example to express myself and to make it clear (glass steel). Now you're adding load outs with titanium. How is that addressing the point? Now you have glass steel loadouts and titanium loadouts and mixed loadouts. Remembering which layout was load5 and load6 etc is what my point is. To simplify it for myself I use odd number loadouts for "naked" (so I can at least queue stuff up) and even numbers for resource reliant loadouts.

And fwiw I wouldn't waste tech on tier1 titanium/glass steel when tier2 serves perfectly well.

I believe lukemacu was just offering an example, Novalia.

You're not limited to updating existing templates-- you can make new templates as well. These are not as convenient as they could be because you can never join two templates, but you can certainly make a new naked template rather than using odd-numbered versions. I frequently do this when I haven't sufficient strategics to create my existing units.

The T1 thing doesn't really have anything to do with anything, but fwiw, I would "waste" tech on tier 1 equipment upgrades smiley: smile Techs are cheap, strategics are expensive, and tier 1 equipment techs reduce the strategic cost of equipping units with tier 2 equipment. Just offered in case you were unaware of this.

Aye I was, maybe a better example would have been Wildwalker archers with longbows and ones with crossbows, but my point still stands. Though you are right, T1 units even when you have T2 of the strategic resource can save money and resources, espically when you need to field an army fast in a war.
