I was flipping through some old Star Wars concept art and came across one illustration that made me think sky cities would be a really fun feature.

It follows that they would not be able to draw any resources from the land (because there isn't any) but may instead have dust/influence bonuses and strategic importance. Cloud cover brought by winter could effect its connection with the land in some penalizing way, or conversely, provide some sort of reprieve from the negative winter effects. What do you think?

Well they don't exist yet so the benefits can be anything you imagine. For example: If a player gets boxed into one or a few regions and requires more cities to succeed, then committing to building one of these could be a way out of that situation.

Id say it would make a better faction feature rather then it being available to all races, it could also be a cool reskin of the roving clans.

There could be an advanced nidya clan who have mastered air travel and tech. It would be cool if they have units that are mobile that you need to deploy to gain resource, the benefit being you could gather anywhere on the map,but it should take a turn to deploy/withdraw.
