There are still some Unit mixes that I'd like to see to further compliment army selections in-game, and I feel like it'd be cool if there were more ways to interact with each of the new mechanics featured in each expansion. I also enjoy coming up with Fantasy races quite a lot, so I decided to make up some Minor Factions. I love the way in which the Dorgeshi are related to the Roving clans, so several of these Minor Factions are related from some existing ones in a similar way. Note that

The Xenomages (I was thinking about fantasy Cyborgs, kinda like some human cards from MtG's Mirrodin, Moriok in particular)

Sometimes Ardent Mages lose their minds during their study of Pain and Magic, many of them slowly begin to think about further separating their minds and bodies, which has led to the apparition of a heretic sect that attempts to use Dust Magic to leave behind their organic bodies and have slowly begun to replace their bodies with mechanical parts. These Mages often abandon the cities and go to live in isolated temples that they build near Ruins.

Bonus per village: -5% reduced cost to the Production Cost of Units that use Strategic Resources as construction material (Guardians, as well as units equipped with Strategic resource weaponry)

Unit: Outlander (Infantry)

A Slow bulky infantry with Ardent Fire and some kind of Counter (possibly Defensive Impulse or Sweep Counter)

Special Mission: Outfit a Unit with equipment that uses at least 4 different Strategic Resources and visit the village.

The Uncanny (Like Sea Angels but made of Mist that surrounds an organic core)

Mysterious small creatures that look largelly composed of multicolored Mist and who are able to communicate telepathically. It is often said that they sometimes transform into other races to infiltrate villages.

Bonus per village: +4 Infiltration Points to infiltrated heroes per turn per pacified village.

Unit: Wisp (Support)

Like a Flying Preacher with Stealth.

Special Mission: Have a Wisp search three ruins in another empire(4 Wisps).

The Foragers (I was thinking about the Forgotten but even more Piratey)

An offshoot of the Forgotten that dedicated themselves to the Ocean, they are mostly fishermen, but some of them also sail through coastal waters robbing coastal villages and cities during winters.

Bonus per village: -10% building cost of Naval units.

Unit: Raider (Interceptor)

A ship that shoots a harpoon with a range of 2, and has a Free Counterattack. Like a Naval Unit version of the Tetike.

Special Mission: Have a ship circle the entire world starting and ending in a specific fortress (Reward: Forager Hero, a Ship Captain-themed Hero)

The Kikiri (goblins with long red noses, big bellies and covered with white fur, kinda reminiscent of a  snowman)

The Kikiri are native to mountainous and cold regions of Auriga and are known for their distinctive laugh that sounds like "Kikiri". They collect Pearls to make their weapons and homes sturdier during winter.

Bonus per village: -20% to maintenance costs of units during Winter per village.

Unit: A cheap infantry unit like a Stalwart with Dark Proof.

Special Mission: Collect all Pearls in their region before Winter is over (Reward: Pearl-Weapon).

The Scorched (Black Drakkenlings with very long necks and a somewhat skeletal appearance)

Members of the Drakken who were exiled due to having committed a heinous crime. Settling in an anomaly in a volcanic valley, they slowly began to mutate and adapt to their current environment.

Bonus per village: +3 Food and Approval in exploitation of Anomalies per converted village.

Unit: Adversary (Long Range)

A Kassai with 5 Speed and Inner Fire.

Special Mission: Settle a Volcanic, Icy, or Desertic region (reward: Food Stockpiles)

The Raminak (humanoid frogs)

Amphibious people who live in the wetlands feeding on all manners of plants and animals that would be poisonous to other species. They decorate their simple homes with mysterious artifacts that they find in ruins, which might be related to the weird mutations that can be seen in many of their people.

Bonus per village: +20% bonus to Ruins search rewards per village.

Unit: Bog Keeper (Infantry)

An Amphibous infantry with Disease Immunity. Similar stats to a Justiceer.

Special Mission: Take a Hero equipped with at least two Mission-equipment to their village (Raminak Hero, which would have abilities ideal for exploring Ruins).

The idea I had is that each of these would show up in maps if the player has enabled the proper expansion. So Scorched only show up if the Inferno expansion is on, and so on. Which is why I made one for each Expansion, except for the Lamiak which doesn't really use the Symbiosis expansion much, but i haven't played the Mykara yet and have constantly heard from more experienced players that the Urkan are utterly broken so I did not want to make something that helped Urkans.

Also, anybody else is welcome to post Minor Faction ideas here.

Just as a little note since I've heavily looked into this, you can't make new minor factions via modding, at least, if you want new units. You can't import 3D models or anything sadly, but you can create new minor factions without new units to go along

Yeah, I imagine the option of importing 3D models would be off. Even in games where you can do that, you usually need some other program to prepare and rig the model perfectly for the game engine before importing. That said, I made these up mostly for the joy of creation.

If I was thinking about making a mod, I would probably go for more Quests and events. And maybe some more Diplomatic Conditions.
