I suggest that pacified villages be repopulated with their native faction after X amount of turns (depending on game speed). It makes sense that they should remain pacified for several years but its very likely that the inhabitants that scattered when the village was attack would return and rebuild after a while if no empires comes in and assimilates it or the cult incorporates it into their collective.

Agreed, mostly because hate seeing massive swaths of dead, pacified villages out in the world in land that nobody owns or in enemy territory that has no intention of ever rebuilding the village.

If this idea is bringed as a game option, I support it.

If this idea is imposed without game option, I don't like it. ^^

I'd love to see something like this. At the very least it would add some more barbarian fighting action to the game when everyone's at peace with each other.

And don't neutral factions populate the marketplace with their goods/dudes anyway? Or do they keep adding those even when they're dead?

How does the marketplace get populated? Besides by sale. I played a game as Roving Clans on the highest difficulty level, and I couldn't do the faction quest because the AI bought all the mercenaries and it never repopulated. And the AI refused to go to war with me. At that point, even though I had good armies and cities, I don't think I had any way to win, so gave up.

This is one of the problems with high difficulty levels. At lower levels the AI sells units to make money (I even saw a Guardian once on Hard difficulty). At high ones, I think the AI has so much money, it never seems to sell units.
