Fix game-changing random rewards

I honestly have no idea how they´re controlled, if they´re truly random or not, but they´re clearly not balanced right now. Tier 3 Glassteel/Titanium weapons and armors and Advanced Extractor provide incomparable benefits to be completely up to chance. They can and have been the single difference between me and other good players, in both ways; and both to lose and to win a game because of sheer luck doesn´t feel good, not for me at least.



Civ:BE had this issue right at launch with building-improving quests and randomly acquired quests. They fixed it by setting the moment that any of those quests was triggered for one player as a trigger for all others, in a way no one would go more than a certain amount of time without the possibility of getting the same improvement.



I´m not sure that´s an adequate solution here, but I think it should be something at least close to that.

I completely agree with you. I guess we asked for that for a long moment. No one ask for a hard code work, just an option. If Amplitude will try to sell us the new Extension, they could add few precious tweaked option like this...







- Quest should give normal techs only (as option), it's enough good as it is. Or it may be a mondial event quest, where everyone can acquire the tiers 3 something.



- Advcanced extractors should be a temporary quest (not as option, but always). 20 turns of double extraction would be largely enough interesting. What the ♥♥♥♥ it's as if you have 4 dorguesi villages for free for all the game... it's insane.

I believe less RNG-dependence is something we're all looking forward to.



The heaviest concern I have for this game presently is the gap between great rewards and terrible rewards. The system of "all or nothing" is a much bigger problem in my opinion.

If someone gets extractor bonuses and someone else gets a couple of good weapon/armor techs, then it seems okay.

But, when someone is getting all the armor/weapon techs and extractors and other players are getting literally nothing, that is a significant balance problem.



I wouldn't be annoyed by this if the system was "dust or resources and then sometimes add quest on top of that". But tossing in a bunch of bad quests, bad techs (Shipyard....) and the possibility of getting nothing at all is pretty lousy.
