Same here.  Wouldn't simply give me the email address unless I set up the account to my email.  Deleted the account afterward.  I don't like using email clients on my system.  Prefer to stick to webmail for redundancy purposes.

Don't really know what I hope on with my casual gaming approach and not-so-big playtime, but why not to sign?

I'm not sure I follow what you did, but just in case: you need that e-mail to be valid because that's how we'll get in touch if you are selected. :)

My email address is valid.  Same one I used to register on this site.  Same one I've used for almost 2 decades.  But whenever I clicked on your "Click Here" link, it would forcefully open my email client on my computer.  In my case windows mail.  But I've never used the email clients on my home computer for my personal accounts (I've used them for my university account, but never my personal account) and hence never actually set it up because I always manage my emails via my providers website.  Because of this, your link wouldn't give me the email address to email you my application, unless I linked the email client to my email provider first.  So that's what I did temporarily, so I could get the email address I needed to send you my application.  I then went to my email provider and emailed you the application.  Then I removed the account from the Windows Mail client, because i don't use Windows Mail.  So it was a difficulty with email clients, not my email address.  I don't use clients on my machine, because I like to keep a certain level segregation in my data.  That way if any one thing fails, it limits what I can potentially lose.  Such as with windows mail.  It took me about a half hour just to confirm that WinMail actually connected my email via IMAP, thankfully.  I needed to confirm this because POP3 has a bad tendency of automatically actually downloading emails to your machine and deleting them from your online inbox if your not careful.  Which is something I didn't want, because I keep certain things in my email account for redundancy such as order invoices for hardware I've purchased over the years so should one fail within warranty I can use my email invoice backup as a proof of purchase date.  Plus I get a lot of spam email due to how old my email account is and the last thing I want is every random piece of who knows what that ends up in any random spam email actually making its way onto my home machine.  It's nothing complicated, it's just the way I do things with certain tech for very specific reasons.  I just like to keep a certain level of segregation in my data.  Both for redundancy and security reasons.

So don't worry, the email address is valid.  I just didn't want to have my email account linked to an email client on my machine that I never actually use.  I use my email everyday via my email providers website.  But I never use an email client on my home machine.

I hope this clears up any confusion Frogsquadron.

Yup, that works. It'd be a lot easier if the mailto protocol could be linked to whatever browser e-mail client one is using, but I guess that's asking too much. c:
