Yes, feedback about the status will be highly appreciated! Hopefully we generated enough (savegame) data for you to find the cause ;-)


Just another thing: While I also hate it to be stuck in a game and am not very happy about it, I think some of the reactions I've read in this thread are somewhat out of proportions. As a developer myself I know that strange bugs sometimes happen and changes can have very unexpected consequences.


What I've seen from Amplitude Studios so far is that they really work together with us - their playerbase - in an exemplary form. So I think we can trust they will dive right into the issue and will fix it asap.

Same issue here.  Playing as the UE and still fairly early in the game, around turn 73.

As others have mentioned it is a bit disheartening that this game breaking bug, or some similar to it, has been around for 6+ months and I hope it gets resolved soon.

For the record. Same here. Stuck at turn 99, (turn 102 pervious game). AI Encounuter... Pending...

Hi folks,


I am really sorry about this, and especially surprised.


Our QA did not report such issues on 1.05, neither did we experience it in our tests before sending it to the QA. There was just one case of the Unfallen faction locked in invading its home system, and we have commited a fix in preview 1.06. 


I assume this is a rare issue, which becomes common when it is multiplied by the umber of users.


We have fixed some issues regarding this in the past versions, which could cause this kind of behaviour, but it seems some cases remain. We have tried to program a watchdog to start the battle no matter what, but it created other issues.


We will double our efforts on this.

cant play game. experiencing turn pending and battle pending bugs in every game played

Turn 130 or so in my current game.  Ended turn and just sat and watched the busy cursor for several minutes.  Hope you can use the AutoSave because I cant even reload the current or past autosaves.  It just gets a little over half thru with the load and stops, taunting me by pretending to load, but mainly just waiting for me to helplessly end its life with an "End Process Tree" from task manager.

Having the same problem.


The AI gets stuck in a battle in turn 118, no matter what I do, even if I prevent the encounter that (apparently) causes it (happens in the Tsing-System between the green and the brown AI). I can continue playing afterwards, if I don't engage in battle. However, since a raider attacks soon afterwards it doesn't matter much ;)

Given it wasn't recreated by QA (and we've provided saves that reproduce the issue very consistently on our machines, on both 1.05 and 1.06), is this a hardware issue?

Reposting here,


As indicated in the Steam forums, I have an issue related to a space battle which completely blocks a game.


I have an example here : I am about to attack the Sodons in their Cancer system. The save file before the game is stuck is here : Sauvegarde bloquée - (T-1).zip


I move my fleet to Cancer and 2 things may happen :


  • I wait when I arrive at Cancer, waiting for the AI to attack first. This leads to the turn pending indefinitely after I end it ("En attente"). The save game corresponding to this situation is here : Sauvegarde bloquée - Tour bloqué.zip

  • I attack the AI first. In this case I can choose my strategy in the Advanced mode or I can start the battle right away. In either case, I can click on the "Start the battle" button but nothing happens afterwards. I would like to point out the pop-up under the button : it says the enemy is selecting a strategy (see below screenshot) and it never ends. Maybe this is the root of the problem, the AI is stuck and it blocks the entire game? If I close the battle pop-up and get back to it, the "Start the battle" button is grayed out and I get a specific sound when I click on it, meaning it doesn't work. This happened to me on several occasions, but this is the best example I have right now. I hope this helps because this bug is very annoying and can ruin a long game.

So you describe this as "rare" issue, when steam forums and other forums, including this, are full with reports about end turn doesnt work? lol

This is basically the check engine light of the game, if anything goes wrong with ANY of of the AI modules then the game can't proceed to the next turn. To do so would leave the game in an invalid state. So it really is just so aggravating as its the nature of  a turn based game and we can't proceed with turns.  I am more than happy to wait for the hotfix. Guys please upload your diagnostic files, they help way more than the saved files. I had a look at them and as a former Dev I am quite impressed by the verbosity of these. Well done guys, it should make narrowing down the conditions that cause this bug a bit easier. (or as luck would have it, it might be in the one area of your code where you are not logging everything). Please just keep the community informed, especially on the steam forums.
