Description:

When I try the 'quick select Empire' from the drop down menu, the menu doesn't drop down.  I then go to the empire selection and 'create' empire screen.  From their it allows me to pick a different empire, but does not allow me to proceed to the main game creation screen.

Steps to reproduce:

I click start game, and then try to do the following

Frequency:

5/5

Behavior:

I cannot leave the Empire selection screen, nor play the game

v1.05 S5 Gold-Public

I can confirm this. This happens even after a complete reinistallation. Clicking on the "portrait" to enter the screen that allows to create custom factions or select leeaders cannot be exited by any means. 

Everytime I enter that screen, I can't go back at all and have to force the game to close via ctrl alt delete in order exit the game.

Exactly what happens.  Two clean installs and even a verification of the game cache via steam.

I have exactly the same problem (no mods) cannot do custom or even select race to play with

Still having this issue.  Any solutions yet?

I wanted to say that I'm still have this issue and am not able to play a new save file at all.  I'm curious if anyone has saw an answer to this.  I have done a fresh install three times now, and still I can't procedd with a new game.

I know there are alot of bugs with the new patch, more pressing matters possibly, but a response from the team would be cool.

I have not been able to reproduce the issue, even on the public build of the game...

I'd be interested in screenshots, Diagnostics files and even DxDiags (who knows maybe it's a hardware issue..?)

My computer doesn't procede from this screen.  I would like to add that the game was working perfectly until the patch.  

You will notice here that instead of saying Vodyani it says Sophons.  Where would I locate the Diagnostic files and the DxDiags.
