I hope for more depth with minor races.It was very simplistic in EL and not very political at all.

Minor Factions has been confirmed on the ES2 page, actually, under the Community Rewards.

I'm pro-Empire plans, esp if influence is integrated into the game.



As for a mechanic similar to winter, I think this can be best accomplished through more significant and varied galactic events, with deeper impact than the ones we had in ES.

- Market

- Minor Factions

- Resource system

- Research system (era`s)

Minor Factions (Special Empire bonus, Ship Parts, and heroes)

Quests (more minor role than in EL, essentially more in-depth exploration/colonization events)

The Market (if the AI can be made to actually use it this time around)

Buildings on strategic map (watchtowers, extractors -> starbases)

All EL races/minor factions (as at least minor factions or heroes)

Greater emphasis on terrain/anomalies which EL had compared to ES

The resource system (stockpiled, rather than just available or not empire-wide. Ability to activate resources per planet/system rather than just on/off on empire would be nice)

Use of strategic resources for special ship parts, special buildings.

Wonders or competitive quests.

Unique playstyle or win-condition per race. Something like the master quest for each faction, but less questy and more of an alteration or bonus to an existing victory.

Empire Plan could be good, but I'm not sure about Winter. I personally don't mind the winter mechanic in EL, but I've seen lots of people who don't like it. I'm not sure how well something like that could be adapted to the space theme, either. So I think it might be best if winter is left out this time. But I won't mind if Amplitude can get it working.

Personally, I like the combat system in ES1. I would not be in favor of complete manual control, as this would become a drain on resources I find, which they can spend on developing the strategic gameplay and empire management.



What I'd like to see from EL are:

- Quests. In ES there was a hero class called adventurer. I think they should be the ones to go on quests.

- Hero skill tree, with both class and faction specific skills.

- Influence.

- The market. I think that would be a great addition.

- Different and diverse factions, both in terms of lore and gameplay, as in EL.



With such additions, Es has the potential to be a very unique space 4x game.
