my answer in short: Emperor Zelevas aka Santa Claus is spreading it by force with his sheer massive amounts of influence and some serious firepower! Think about Santa in Futurama and re-watch the United Empire intro to get an idea! He's a nice guy, though! Well, if you don't happen to be alien, that is.
It deserves an own thread. I can't play ES2 at the moment because of my personal Academy Quest (studying and also waiting for a new patch). So, I just had an idea for an Endless Space 2 Christmas Special.
Imagine:
- Unfallen as Christmas trees
- Emperor Zelevas as Santa Claus and Sophons as Santa's little helpers
- Horatio as Ebenezer Scrooge
- and Lumeris as Grinch who stole Christmas
- Cravers as Reindeers
- Riftborn as Snow Cannons because we rarely have a White Christmas here
- and we as players have to visit the Church of Vodyani - because if we don't they get utterly mad and we'll end up in hell eventually
Now, my photoshop skills are pretty much non existent and restricted to MS Paint. (see the Sophon-Cravers Pizza connection on /r/EndlessMemes to get an idea).
However, I'd like to see that Christmal Special happen. Perhaps we as a community can realize it? :D
My thread got quite some upvotes on reddit but no answers so far sadly. I successfully :) brought this difficult day behind me and finally things should become a bit more relaxed from now on.
Tomorrow, I'll start working on a first image. I have Emperor Zelevas as Santa Claus for quite some time in my mind. Time to get a portable version of GIMP running!
Hey, but don't restrict yourself to my ideas here. It'd be cool to see all the fan-made stuff. I follow some amazing subreddits where fan art became such a huge thing. Would be cool to do something like this for this great game!
@visual; Yes, that'd be fun. Although I need some help of you guys to realize it ;)
However, a written story would be cool, too! Perhaps combine it and get a Comic together. But I definitely can't do that alone. So, help is pretty much appreciated.

That's a great post and idea. :) I know a bit about American culture, so I can relate. So, perhaps with our MS Paint Skills combined, we can come up with something fun :D
