 We tried the patch in small MP group.

 Vodyani spawned near boost resourse and void stone, the game was over at turn 40.  Vodyani unlocked last CP boost at turn 95 on normal speed!

"Militarist" isn't "military above all," it's "we trust nobody and will fight them." Refusing access to your military is a suitably paranoid Militarist choice, because you don't trust refugees or foreigners not to tamper instead.


"Ecologist" thinking isn't "plants and animals above all," it's "biodiversity and cultural diversity above all." Implicitly trusting in an alien minority by allowing them unlimited access to your military is an Ecologist choice for supporting the diversification of your society by bringing in another culture.

Cultural diversity is pacifist though. Quality of life is ecologist, but there is no sign of that here. If anything it should be a scientist outcome.

Well it's a heavy debate. Ecology in endless space 2 touches a broad spectrum of concepts. 


The first laws are mostly about increasing the food production, something that industrial ideologies may do also, but differently. Industrial production of food is huge, with a very low thoughts about next generations, meanwhile ecologic production of food are less impressive, but better at long term. So... In endless 2 this part is kinda erased for FIDS prodcution consistency. Also, all space food improvement in ES2 are industrial AND ecologic production types, intensive but combined with agroecology process, so we can imagine that in million years the idnsutrial and ecologic food production has found a balance. So there is a reason than idustrial ideaology did give to ecologic ideology all the food concepts, to focus on other subjects ?


The second part of ecologist politic in ES2 are about combining species for a better outcome. In ecology ideologies, not ecology science, there are a lot of "social ecology" ideas, thinking that you can lead and manage a group of people peacefully and properly with ecologic concepts. The main ideas are most of the time that diversity in a group is positive, dont let the group to be too much dependant to power, if you lead him, and try to get the best from everybody instead of control their weakness. So, there is a possibility that this kind of concepts has make their ways and proven their efficacity in a far future, when intelligent beings are so differents, and took a main part of ecologic ideology.


The very ultra important "biodiversity" part of the ecology science (not the ideology) was no left out, but is discreet. It's the fuel of evolution, the "shield" against mass extinction, and a treasure of scientific possibilities. It's very easy to destroy, and there is no way to rebuild it, exept let the live do its job and wait. But still, nothing say that indusrty in ES2 dont take this in account. The xeno-industrial infrastructre is supposedly adaptative to local environments, and is better on planets with a lot of living forms. The industry in ES2 probably dont destroy environnents. Apparently, the cravers are the only species that truely destroy biodiversity, and pay the price for.

Sorry to be a bit annoying, but ecology is not about quality of life at all. It's my way of life, and I also am a worker on ecologic sites. It's clearly more healthier, but it ask a ton of hard work. An ecologic way of life is not easy at all to follow, and will never be. There are a lot of things that take time to do to get the same service that an industrial way of life get instantly (energy, food, mostly). It ask for a lot of maintaining work every year, for human comfort, but also for protecting actual bio-diversity. More those works are made in the ecologic way, more they are hard (hand made instead of using machines) or money costly (with ecologic machines/fuel). It's clearly worth in the end, but not comfortable at all, and i cant even complaint too much i live in one if the most cosy/safe climate in the world (west-south france). An entirely modern ecologic world would be a very heathly place to live for, and very passionnating, but still harsh.

I mean in terms of the game and the sorts of improvements that contribute to ecologists. That it doesn't mesh with real world meaning is unfortunate but unsurprising.

What are penetration values for the new energy bombers and fighers. When will we be able to see those values in the game?

Energy bombers have 90% hull, 50% shield. (Compared to projectile 50% hull 90% shield). The fighters are 30/10 and 10/30.

Currently, fighters are not intercepting bombers at all.




The only thing that they do is wait patiently for their host ship to be destroyed, and then redeploy to escort the next remaining ship in line. As Kynrael knows I have looked into the squadron xml files and could not devise a way to resolve this from there, it would appear something is wrong with the priorities but even adjusting those does not make the fighters pursue any mission except escort, or in case of offense, attacking directly other ships. In no circumstances do they engage each other or any bombers. 


Not only that, flak does not target strike craft at all. I adjusted the damage vs. squadrons to give orichalcix slugs 4200 DPS vs. squadrons and all squadrons survived vs. full top tier kinetics. There is as of 1.1.15, and the live version, no way to counter bombers.


This, as you can imagine, makes bombers the new meta weapon given they are already the highest output of any and cross flotillas.

That certainly takes the shine off the preview patch. And explains one extremely unlikely victory my carrier gave me when messing around with my Unfallen game.

It would have been nice to get some kind of warning that this was the case. I fel like I wasted a good portion of my weekend playing and getting to the point where I was ready to wage high end war with no idea that these systems were broken. 


Are they going to release the final version of the patch with these defects though?

This is not unique to the preview patch, it's just a little worse due to the introduction of energy bombers and the strategic versions you can get much earlier than you should be able.

Both effects seem reversed, too. Why is it a military option to refuse aid for your military?

Also, why is ecologist featured in the quest at all?

I cannot load 1.1.15 thru Steam. I load the game it goes into loading screen and bar fills up then nothing. Go back to release version and it loads fine into the main menu. Others I play with do not have this issue and I have seen no one else mention this. Video drivers up to date. Tried various other things. Nothing worked. Just thought I would give a heads up as when it goes to release it may affect many more people.

Updated Video drivers. Removed the Registry.xml. Tried turning off Avast since it has affected other games. Initially did a test of uninstalling preview and testing that base game still worked then reinstalling preview to no avail. Redownloaded the whole game while subscibed to preview. Verified Files. Restarted Computer. Restarted Steam.
