Not really sure the races need to be "relatable". This isn't a Civ game. 

Not to mention: Do you really think aliens will be Star Trek types which are all analogs for different human aspects? That only happens because TV shows and movies lack the budget and time to actually create aliens as we're likely to meet them. If anything, I want more alien aliens...not less of them.

As long as the races are fun to play, their closeness to human analogs is the last thing I want prioritized.

I like the Cravers because they are ugly and warlike. I like Horatio because he is a completely over-the-top narcisist. I like United Empire because it is a dystopian empire and a significant twist on most future-human fantasies. I like Lumeris because they are greedy mafia-thug space-fish-things. I like the Riftborn because they are strange, confused, deeply other entities. 

I don't admire any of them, but as works of fiction I like them all.
