If they are getting hacked every turn from seemingly nowhere, I would suspect Umbral Choir lurking in the special nodes or even having sanctuaries on their systems.

Or that. I think the only time I've ever had any real trouble against hacking has been when I've been next to a UC. Given that the UC AI loves their behemoths and doesn't cloak them (can you even cloak them?) they're easy enough to find and eliminate come the mid game.

After given hacking some time, I actually think it's really cool. It gives pacifists another way to approach their enemies and hinder their progress, and it's really not that hard to grasp how it works.

Yes, Behemoths can be cloaked, but Juggernauts, Obliterators, and Citadels can not. I'm not sure why the UC would leave any Behemoths uncloaked.

Hmmmmm, next time I see it I'll screenshot for you. It's very possible that it's because I'm already using anti-cloak when I find them.

UC AI is also the most aggresive Obliterator user in my games. And it makes launches, you guessed it, from its home system.

I have mix feeling about this mechanic but I think the game already have too busy work even without this feature. I think it's better off to remove offensive hacking from other faction and made it exclusive only for Umbral Choir.  Also the Behemoth which maybe rework a little bit and made it exclusive just for Hissho.

Im having a hard time to see what has been hacked exactly, most of the times I don't see a change. Are there things the AI prefer to do, or to they just imbed sleepers all the time?

In my last game I used the action to see every sleeper in my entire Empire and I found one sleeper (21 systems). I was hacked successfully a few times before that. I guess AI loves to install backdores. That said I believe that people tend to be too perfectionist when it comes to hacking. It is normal that you cannot prevent every hack from being successful. If I tried that it would not be fun anymore for me, too.

Another question, when you succesfully trace a hack, is there any reason not to shut it down?

It could be a hack through your system but targeting another empire if I understand it correctly.
