I predict, that the next expansion shall bring about the long foreseen blackjack and hookers, but most importantly a new major RACE!

What more! New major faction will feature a new set of heroes, faction unique techs and ship design and perhaps even a touch of a new mechanic.
Like picking up pearls, in space, to bring them to an altar... you know.

And Lumeris will get free buyout tech from the start.

And inflation slider, to turn it off.

Perhaps even militaristic quest path...
