Hi Cat.

I'm using the new 1.5.7 PatchPreview, and still get the following:

Currently I'm allied with the Nakalim (as the default Vaulters), and have no options to trade research with them.

The entire tab comes up blank.

This has been since Awakening launched; never been able to trade research with the Nakalim in any of my games.

Could you share a save of that situation? Was this a fresh game started on 1.5.7? (A lot of the fixes are not retroactive.)

Isn't research trading disabled with the Nakalim by design?

Oh, I overlooked the word research, because my mind immediately jumped back to that horrible bug we had where all options would disappear from Diplomacy.

You are correct: With Nakalim, no research should ever show up in Diplomacy.

Well my knight-errant's quest of dehumanizing Nakalim must be laid to rest with Celestial Worlds quest fix. At least it brought fixes to some errors along the way.

Empire Relic slots now require 2 temples to unlock but provide a 15% bonus (up from 10%)

Great!! Fantastic to see that almost all bugs were taken care of. Especially the fixes are very welcome.

Spot on!  Excellent.

I would strongly suggest reviewing the reward for this as well - the prior reward (unless the tooltip was extremely misleading) was a mere 10 influence on Empire, per relic owned, which is bad for two reasons.   The first reason is that it's an incredibly low influence value, even by the standards of the very first few turns of the game.  The second is that because of the nature of that quest, if you've completed the quest, you've more or less solved all of your influence problems "now and forever" - at that point they've built so much influence that all of their laws and any feasible things they can spend it on are very much at a surplus value.  Rewarding the player with even more influence is rewarding them with something they no longer care about.

Right now you have an excellent faction quest reward for the terraforming quest branch, but you don't have a good one for this quest branch.

If anyone needs suggestions - perhaps a science-related bonus for helping the academy would fit the lore and offer an interesting choice (go for the terraforming branch for FIDI, go for the academy branch for S).  Some easily-coded ideas could include double (triple?) science from relics, or perhaps a reduction in the %malus applied to science on systems (25% instead of 50%)?

Cool; I wasn't sure if they'd make the cut for that consideration, but I'm glad we've got another option now.  I still haven't had the Mezan questline trigger yet in any games I've played, although that has a fair amount to do with me playing too much Riftborn/Unfallen/Sophons.

• The Academy will now abort ground invasions after reparations have been paid

This was a particularly funny bug in a playthrough of mine.  Glad to hear it's been fixed.

Not too different from the snowball effect Vodyani can create with Ark modules and population boosters, honestly. It may also be an effort to reduce the Nakalim dependence on Behemoths since getting the technologies for Behemoths is a bit more of a sidetrack for them due to the nature of their research mechanic. 

Were the bugs I reported (savefile corruption and galaxy generation issues) with the last patchpreview found and fixed?

Hi people.. I have put off playing Awakening, as I heard it was a little rushed and I was a little burnt by the state after early access, right at the beginning 2 years back, which was more than fixed by the numerous, generous, free updates and dlc up till now.

Would anyone be kind enough to let me know if this will mean I should be able to have to go for a play through with the Nekalim without anything major breaking? Thanks

Awakening is fine. Have fun. If you really think you'll be urked by some kinks, than look over the Bug Forum and see if something sticks out as a deal breaker to you.

just make sure to play with patchpreview.

Academy fleet is still oupie at first election. I suggest to cut it down, or remove it outright, as we are forced to ban it in all MP games.

Forgot to add, MP run muuch smoother right now, thnx a lot. Its a pleasure to play w/o lags and resync.

changes made the patch makes Nakhelim more fun and interesting to play. but i play only sp, like most peopld i think, so i dont find the academy problematic
