There is only a week left until the next Endless Day. I'm so excited about it!! As a great prize for last year's competition we did not receive a Pug Update for ES2. What shall we not get this time? Make your best guess.

That's a good guess, my dude. Not only we're not getting any DLCs this year, we're also not getting any patches\fixes.

Oh my sweet Lord Horatio! I just found out that this year's Endless Day will be Amplitude's tenth anniversary. Do you understand what that means, people? We shall not receive something very-very special this time. Hurray !

We will receive Pug for ES2, as well as a tech tree lore pass eventually. The dev team is busy with Humankind and going through all the feedback they got from the most recent OpenDev. I don't think they would want to divert some of the people on the team just 4 months away from Humankind's release date(which was originally going to be released in 2020) and risk it having a buggy release.

I wouldn't expect any DLCs for ES2 anymore(since its development cycle is already over), but patches/fixes could come at some point (my bet is after April, in May/June when first postrelease fixes and patches to Humankind have been made).

Pug was a prize for winning last year's competition. Will it now be the prize again? Man, what a clever trick! I think they should repeat it about five more times in the years to come.

The Pug is still a prize for last year's challenge. Nobody is saying it will be a prize for this year as well, I don't know where you go that from. We don't even know if there will be any community challenges this year.

Though I do have to say, I don't think showing such negativity will get the Pug, patches, fixes or the artbook any sooner.

I was positively expecting the Pug all year, but never got it. Today I'm afraid my whole positivism has completely dried up. I am sure, not only mine, but also those of my friends whom I convinced last Endless Day to buy a collection of Amplitude games, telling them that this developer, like no one else, is sensitive and responsible to his promises. As you can see, there is no Humankind badge on my profile. I suspect that the Endless Dungeon badge will not be on it either. For all my love for Amplitude products, I will probably refrain from purchasing them for the next couple of years.

A couple of friends of mine bought console versions of Amplitude games, only to find out that they are even more buggy and than the PC versions. Now I feel pretty awkward in front of them. Yet none of them came here, did not complain or demand a refund. If they did that, would you accuse them of being overly negativistic ?

And saying nothing or something nice won't remind to management, that's it's not okay to make promises you weren't planning to actively commit to, and then postponing them for uncertain time. Priorities shifts can be forethought and taken into account, and when not, you can always share new plan with your community.

As much as I love Amplitude and their games, I'm sad to say I've been disappointed by their treatment of the Endless franchise.

I believe you are seeing a combination of the effects of Games2gether combined with working for a publisher.

Pug is a Hero I wouldnt like to see in Endless Space.. I mean if I want cats and dogs in a space game I'd rather play Stellaris.. But thats just my opinion. And now as we got the Dark Matter update were still waiting for a patch to fix some issues but my Pug hero will forever be deactivated.
