They could also add modules or system improvements that can "detect" fleets w/ a cloaking device, but instead of unveiling them, they simply read as an 'unregistered object' (would be similar to the privateer mechanic only you wouldn't be able to see the ships modules on the galaxy map) or just as one of the small 'pings' on the map until they reach an enemy system (one in cold war/war) that is blockading the system. 

The idea was to have a race that doesn't invade, it envolopes takes time, so no instant takeover :)  If you read through the original post you'd see it.  To help make it different from other races, and I agree while cloaked they should be slower going.  But Im talking about a invasion mechanic that is similar to pre-harmony ES1 where it times TIME to convert/invade a planet.  Just spitballing stuff.  But when in comes to balance Velorace, you should know I care most about that :)

your forgiven, and the scimitar is a battleship built by the remans (Romulan star system neighboring planet) as a battleship in the star trek universe, not a great movie, but featured in star trek nemisis.  The Romulan empire, for those that don't Trek, are a race that distrust everybody and everything, they hide everything from everyone, there power, ect, they are a race that engages in conflict only when needed, and sneak attacks are there speciality.  This is something ES2 doesn't have yet, which I personally would LOVE the wraiths to be similar too.  I may not get my wishes, but I can only hope.  The shadow was from Babolyn 5 (spelling) another TV series that aired in the 90's, it was pretty good.  Worth watching.  They had a race that nobody new anything about except that it kicked ass, the Shadow.  The only race in that universe that new anything about them was a race similar to Vulcans from startrek, know lots but refuse to do anything about it.

ok well i voted crystal. I like the old ancient feel of it. Plus its a different style of ship design which i think the game could use.

Well... I think your dream of a spy faction like that , plutar, where you see a faction that can cloak ships and enter war only when necessary... a race that distrussts everybody, that can hide their power... and can manage to create sneak attacks that are very effective, if you pay attention, most of all these concepts you are dreaming in game are already possible. The only thing a major faction like that need is... As you said... A Cloaking Module. Whit a way to hide in the shadows and a possiblity to create sneak attacks, then all your dreams will be More than true, because, as you know... Multiplayer in ES2 is all about Trust & Betrayal. You can never know when your allies will stab you in the back... as it is forever, and always been... A competition towards the same objective... in which only one can achieve. 

That means plutar, instead of dreaming in a major faction that can play like a real spy, all you need is a major faction whit a cloaking method. That way, your dreams will easily come true, as it is the only thing you need to make most of the factors you declared possible :) 

Now im just hoping we can implement that cloaking module as a special support module only that major faction has... like Unfallen vines. I wonder if the devs will actually create a cloaking ship in game.

@Tyco Personally I’m not a fan of the new “Disney” canon as it seems to geared towards little kids, pretty much unoriginal and just black and white, however, Solo does seem to do Legends justice and looks like a very well made film. I’m going to go see it, partly b/c lije Rogue One, it takes place during yhe otiginal storyline and has a darker more “Star Wars”ze feel to it. 

& Yeah haha I voted for Monolith, I like Crystal a lot but it resembles the Harmony too much for me to vote for it

Velorace sorry to let you down lol. I did think the calamari ships were neat. just i wouldve needed to see the different ships that make up the fleet to upvote that one. The Crystal ship design looked cool to me like how the harmony shouldve been instead of a bunch of crystal baskets flying through space haha

@Suis3i I loved Rogue one. Had so many things that i loved and had little shout outs from the prequels and the originals that made it feel fimiliar while not feeling like it was overburdened by it (or just a carbon copy... Cough*..  Force awakens)

The solo movie worries me. The fact that its an original timeline is good and i like the fresh new story telling. But it feels like theyre taking everything han solo is know for and throwing it in one movie. It is a little far fetched for me to believe that all the good things that han solo is known for all happenned in the same time period (potentially over a week lol). How he met and beat lando and got the falcon, how he met chewie, how he did the kessel run. Probably more but thats off the top of my head.

I would likely go see it if it got amazing reviews.. but if its mediocre then ill be unsure. Guess maybe post your spoiler free review here or something and i'll have another view on it?

Also im going to finally try playing mods in star wars empire at war to any of you guys who have played empire at war. going to try thrawns revenge at some point soon.

@Tyco I completely agree about Rogue One; it felt as if it could belong with the original 3 (6) and within the Legends universe, it also wasn’t a cliche copy of one of the original 3 (*cough* Force Awakens & Last Jedi *cough*). 

I do agree with you on some points about the Solo movie, I don’t like the appearance that it may be squishing many of Han Solos infamous lore into a 2ish hour movie and I definitely don’t like Chewies age change to 123 (128 ?) which contradicts his original storyline (one that didn’t have many flaws to begin with). I also hope they mention the freeing of the Wookies on Kashyyyk somewhere in the movie as that was one of the most pivotal parts of Han Solos story but don’t delve too much into it or even change it :// 

If I watch it within the first week I wouldn’t mind posting a mini review here, but I think it’ll do well (both ratings and box office) 

& As for Mods in EaW definitely try out EaWRemake (though downloading it is a pain for Steam users) and Old Republic at War (the skirmish battles and ship models for both mods are insane, and the single player campaign for EaWRemake is really good too). There’s one more I’d recommend besides Thrawns Revenge but I can’t remember it at the moment.

Going to see Solo only because Rouge One was so good.  I was so disapointed in 8/9 I cried for 16 hours after the movie about how star wars was ruined forever. 

I really dug rogue one, and I'll see Solo and Obe's movie as they come out, in the hopes that they carry some grit, some darkness, with a touch of the force.  I loved how Rogue one showed you what it was like to be a person in this magical universe, rather than a 'view from the sky' if you will.

Also @Tyco I voted for the Calamari design, the other was a touch too boxy for me, and the middle just looked like a crystaline growth that needed removing like a mole.  (Yes I did play ES1 and this is a play on words and yes I am a hater). LOL  

The Monolith design is a good second though so no complaints here.

@Plutar i would also like to hear your solo review on the movie when you see it. Star wars 8/9 were garbage and i dread the fact that those directors will be back for more. Is the obiwan movie a real for sure thing yet? if it is i will be going to see that opening night good or bad. obiwan was one of my favorite parts of the prequels.

So just in our small but dedicated group we have 2 votes for calamari ships, 1 for the crystaline growth ships and 1 for the monolith design.

Personally im fine with any of these designs as the concept art looks really cool (as the concept are for endless space usually seems to be)

Well the Obi One Kenobi movie is a story about how he learned to communicate with the netherworld, it is for sure.  It focuses on his failure, friendship with Qui- ect, I really don't know what to expect which is probably the best PR for it. its its slated for christmas time I believe.  Solo is May 28th, so very soon.  Solo has the potential to be good if they don't like you guys talked about pack his whole story into one thing.  If they focus on one part of his story, it has hope..
