I'm guessing there are things to come that would make these recommendation irrelevant. Nonetheless, I shall put it out there.
I propose that ground battle involve more strategy than choosing simply one play that either boosts enrollment on the defensive side, or for offense toggles bombing.
I envision it would be similar to the battle plays that will be incorporated into Fleet Combat, perhaps selecting a tactic for each of the subsets of ground troops.
Ground troops could employ:
-guerilla tactics, (decreasing attack, but boosting defense)
-RPG (to attack air units more effectively, but exposing them to more susceptibility to infantry attacks
-anti-tank weapons (to obviously target armor, with substantial reduction to attack against infantry)
armor troops could choose
blitz, cover, or play more of a support role:
-support role could involve the use of guided rocket-powered weapons modules that target incoming air units more effectively.)
-OR armor could focus on the ground assault of troops with the blitz play and attack one extra time per round, but with malus to defense.
-OR armor could assume cover with a reduced effectiveness against ground troops (perhaps only a decrease to attacks/round, but a better defense.
The air troops could:
-work to nullify the effects of bombing by the offensive fleet,
-OR it could focus its fire on the offensive armor (receiving the usual bonus)
-OR modify its modules to frag-bomb and target ground infantry (which would eliminate its ability to destroy armor).
