Actual Spaceport of Lumeris faction should provide any advantage.

But instead it don't, because actual spaceport is near impossible to use correctly.

I can collect here reasons why :

- It's near useless micromanagement, and really too much time consuming

- There is no visibility for using it correctly

- Ergonomy have too many lacks

- The delay make it worst, because population take time to reach another system, making we loose track of situation

- If the destination system is full or near full, it become labyrinthic because first I have to organise some room here, and send population elsewhere

- any error can make loose population.

The Spaceport need to be redesign according his real needs.

Why I want use spaceport ?

1 - Because some specifics populations get some advantage in a environnement. So I want it where there is this environnement.

So first, real utilisation of spaceport isnt about starting location where to send people, it's about destination location where you need them.

2 - I want a population with at least ONE people of each major/minor factions, because I use "diversity" improvements like this :

3 - I want eventualy make some Political tweaking, using this screen (or anothers screens about politics) :

And what I get for doing that ?

I have to decide in the Depart system where I send people.

Then I get this screen :

No indication about population composition

No indication about what advantages give planets of this system

No indication about how the system is already full.

SO, actualy, using spaceport mean to prospect individualy each system (in system detailled screen). Note what system need what, go to see others detailed screen system, choose one or two. Organise the sending. Doing that for each system, with all problems I listed before.

In a word : It just make player MAD.

I gave up about doing that. And as I don't want to underplay a faction, I don't play Lumeris at all.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

------------------ SOME SUGGESTIONS FOR SOLVING THAT --------------------------

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1 - MAKE IT FULL AUTO

In any case, make an option saying :

- AI make all management of Spacesport, and organize all sending.

It's probably the option I will use myself most of the time.

Here, If a destination system is already full, AI can organise some departs from that system and send them elsewhere. It's possible to organise "switch of population". In any case, AI send all people somewhere, there is no "population lost if destination is full". Even, if all is full, the civil ship wait somewhere, or transform in Manpower.

2 - MAKE WISH LISTS

In each system instead of the spaceport tool, there is 2 wish lists and an option with a number to choose :

- People I want to attract from others systems.

- People I don't want too much in this system.

- An option saying : I want at least X differents people in this system (diversity program).

Then AI make all the work about micromanagement, where to grab people, where to send people.

Example : In a system with a teeming planet, I want to attrack people with teeming advantage.

Here I choose in my wish list :

- 2 Lumeris people

- 1 other from a minor faction

In my send wish list, i put :

- 1 military minor faction guy

There is a tool/box/screen where I choose people here, and I can see in my empire how many people I get of each, and what advantage they give (minor faction traits).

Not totally agree about making this full auto, but the info you're asking for is important to have, and implementing this will be very time-saving.

Upvoted, to at least call attention about this info lack.

Hi,

Full auto is only an option.

I have play one game just now. I used the starport at start of the game (4 systems to manage).

But I would like to switch to some automatised help in middle/late game, when there is too many things to manage everywhere.

Thanks for your support !

As I played more (I should get more than 120h actualy), I confirm the managing population system is painfull.

I even don't manage it at all.

I don't care about all populations screens, as there is nothing I could really do, unless painfull micro management with space port.

I feel all of this political new content is a little wasted. Sorry !

My gameplay focus on evident features : techs, improvements, ships.

And I fast click all of the political content, except voting some laws.

I like this a lot. It would be also cool if you could drag and drop population between systems on the Empire screen. Kind of like it worked in Master of Orion 2. Just go to the Empire screen, select a colony, then pull some inhabitants over to another one comfortably. That would make it easier for me already.
