The idea is quite simple:
All players must cooperate to overcome a massive obstacle; create a superweapon (crusible from mass effect style).
Colonize 100% of the galaxy, defeat a massive invatsion etc.

And to top it of there are only two outcomes: Sucsess or fail, no midleground

Yeah, I can see alot of strategies that would work when different races with different perks work together.
Unfallen could give a boost to all empires through the vines, sophons could donate science, horatio could colonize all systems early on and donate them etc. etc.

For the people that I play with, it is problematic for everyone to sit down and play at a common time. It is a barrier to group play.


Need a kind of PBEM system, whereby you receive e-mail when new turn is available. You boot your game, complete your turn, and done. Wait for everyone else to finish their move.


With respect to "simultaneous moves" from the AI, either toss it, or restrict the AI to only when it is *your* turn.
