Hotseat Play?

Would it be at all possible to have a hotseat option put into the game?  This was a wonderful option that used to be prevalent in strategy games but has kind of died out recently.  It would not only allow for people to show the game to friends and thereby convince them to potentially but it.  But more importantly it gives me the option of playing against myself.  I'm someone who does not usually have the opportunity or time to dive into a proper multiplayer game and having the opportunity to create awesome scenarios against myself is something I truly enjoy when I get tired of battling against the AI.
