I was surprised when trying out the Vodyani that my Ark couldn't attack pirates that were in the system. This just doesn't make sense to me from a gameplay standpoint as the Arks should be incredible defensive ships.

They have to detach to be able to attack, if this were not the way they worked, Vodyani would be able to completely prevent other factions exploring their region of the galaxy.

A parked ark does not chase other ships around to attack them.


Long range weapons don't have range covering a whole system.


And then you just need to wait for the pirates to attack, and the ark is well able to deal with 5CP pirate fleets.
